I have my eye on a new engine. It is a 396 stroker. It has 9.2:1 compression. This seems rather low to me. Any thoughts?

9.2 is a good pump gas ratio. You could probably run 14° base timing on regular fuel and still make great power. Higher compression of course needs higher octane and/or less timing. I know you want it, push the go button NOW :D

396 nice

D.S.S. competition products makes a 396/351w stroker
they are out of Lombard IL

don't no if u get pump gas on it though;)

TFS-R Heads. All forged, with H-beam rods. Really sounds like a good deal. Brand new. Reputable builder.
