For what it is worth, I highly recommend the insurance company that I have my Cobra insured with. When my car was totaled back in 2007 and the other driver's insurance company (State Farm) only wanted to give me $30,000, they stepped right up and bought me a new roller and paid for all of the labor to transfer the drive train. My out of pocket costs were $0. And my premium was not increased.

They also cover High Performance Driver's Education events such those held by the KY PCA at Putnam.

I recently had to replace my windshield ($600) and they paid 100% of the cost.

My policy details and the annual premium are shown below. If you're in the market to get, or renew your coverage, you really should give these guys a call.

Soooo, how do they cover the track stuff?

Make sure there are no timing devices within a 10 mine radius. :)

As I understand it, and Scott Holley was the one that got this clarified, as long as the event is classified as "driver's education", which most of them are, and it is not a timed event, you're covered just like on the street.

But don't take my word as gospel. If you're interested I'd give CWG a call and ask them directly.

Thanks Steve. Mine is up in August. I may just convert. Mine is about the same, but with 6k miles annual. Do they let you take it to work a couple of times a week, or is it just cruising and events? I like mine, but it couldn't hurt to compare.

Dan:

My first one was totaled on the way to the barber. I drive mine to work every dry day, the grocery store, etc. As far as I know its not a problem.

Has anyone else seen a rate decrease??
After paying the same annual (due in August) premium for 9 years, my rate decreased by over 36% this time. The only claim I ever had was the windshield in 2003. Also, the dropped all deductibles to zero.
I am a happy camper.
I'm thinking it may have something to do with the 10 year anniversary.?!?
