Cobra Inspection

Depends on your location, but any inspection station can handle it. Just had mine done today in O'Fallon, at 'Highway K Garage', been going there for many years.

Randy - Call Mastertech Auto 636-530-5115.
Tell them I sent you.

Located at Manchester and Old State Road - in the little auto plaza just past Walgreens on the north side on Manchester.

Let me know when you go - I might come up and visit with them (and you).

Mark

BTW - do you have your plates yet? MO Vin Inspection? Other licensing details?

Thanks Mark. That's a convenient spot for me to land. No plates yet as this task is a part of that. My Cobra does not have signal indicators on the dash, and not sure about how the emissions testing works. Those issues are the reason I was looking for a spot that had inspected Cobras previously.

Since you bought this Cobra used (already built) you may be in decent shape. Can't guarantee it - but the licensing process may be easier for you.

First - your current title. Is it titled as a 1965 Ford XXXX? If it is - that's good.
Second - There will be no emissions inspection for vehicles titled as 1965.
Does you car have a VIN number on it anywhere - that matches the title?
If yes - you may be able to sail through the process like any other car - i.e. Safety inspection, go to license office, pay your taxes, transfer the title, show your insurance card, get your plates.

However, it may not be that easy. Try it the easy way first. If you strike out, we'll help you through it. It's a process, and it can be difficult - but most of us have been through it.

If they are historic plates ('65 or such), you do not need Emissions or SAFETY inspection) no inspection at ALL.

with that said, I highly recommend a Technical Inspection of some kind, but the turn signals, windshield wipers, etc, etc BS is not an issue you have to deal with.

Thanks for the help.

Just to confirm, Mastertech Auto is a great place to go. I had mine inspected there yesterday morning. It's a good idea to call and make an appointment, they are pretty busy. I stopped in and told Rick that Mark sent me while my Taurus was downstairs at Dalo Window Tinting getting the windows done and he took good care of me.
