Ok, someone explain to me how this happened so I don't repeat this weekend ;)

Looks like he tapped the brakes too hard getting into the corner, locked up the rear and had too much rear bias, spun, sticky tires did what they do - stick - and he rolled.

How's your bias? When you lock up your brakes do they all 4 squeal at the same time?

Looked to me like he lifted off the throttle too much while cresting a rise which transferred the weight to the front. The now light rear end lost traction for just enough time to induce the slide and traction roll took him over. Gassing it in times like this is counterintuitive but will transfer the weight back to the rear wheels so you have a chance to steer out of it.

I think the story behind that was a missed shift. Something like 5th to 2nd instead of 4th but I don't remember the whole story. Good thing was no one was hurt.

Reading Dean's post then going back to Tom's and Mark's a missed shift makes sense. All three mention the car doing the same thing but the missed shift caused the oh shit moment that he couldn't recover from. My first year at RnG I did that twice. By the time he figured out the rear end locked up it was too late. Tim if you are concerned ask one of the guys that have been to the track you are going to which gears and where they shift on a map. I know it won't be exact, but it will put you at ease when you drive. If he missed and was into the turn even the slightest he could not correct. Just my opinion.
