Plan to set up the scales at the Tuesday evening club meeting. We will give a weight slip and balance article to those interested.

These details remain:
  • Mark: do we need permission from the owner to set up in the traffic lane (where we normally meet?)
  • Does anyone have orange cones we can use to direct traffic?
  • Who wants to use them first? I am probably going to have to leave early so will be looking for someone to load and take home.
  • Mark, did you get my PM/email about expenses?

Weather.com says 75 degrees and dry so we should be good for the event. Subject to last minute cancellation due to weather. I'll plan on setting up around 4:30 Anyone willing to help

For those interested, typical weigh procedure is to do so with half tank gas and driver in place.

They have some cones there to mark the parking spots, don't know if that is enough or not though. Good chance of rain now tomorrow :(

Weighed 9 cars tonight with some suprising results I think for most everyone. The scales are pretty easy to setup and use. We will/can have another day at my house or something for those that want to adjust their cars (I have a jack :D)

Many thanks to Paul for doing all the legwork to get these working. Big round of applause for Paul

These are now the club's tool for use. Mark has them and will store them for now. If you want to use, let Mark or I know and we will have a signup sheet.

We have a similar deal with the Hurricane owners group and keeping track of property of the group. We solved the issue with a singular thread on the owners group that tracks where the tool is and who wants it. We can go on line and see the last location of where it was and track it down. Last guy is responsible for it till he posts he's sent it to another.

That thread is now about 4 pages long and you can track as the tool moves all around the US, even when it sits in one garage for over four months.

I'd suggest starting another thread in the tools area. I'll be happy to do it. Along with that thread, we can post the operating instructions and the forms I passed out.

If we push the burden off to you or Mark, it just increases your workload. We'll use you for other things

Great idea Paul. Go with that. That's how FFC tracks pedal benders for each region.

Please make a note about the only posts that should go in that thread are related to THAT particular tool and definately no off topic posts so it doesn't get misguided. Thanks again Paul.

I think that sounds like a workable plan Paul. I agree we don't want to burn out Mark and Tim too and we have "other" plans for them. :p I was frankly shocked by the weight, but it is what it is. I'd like to sign the scales out some time after I get some changes to my setup done and see where I'm at. I had a lot more weight in the back than I thought I should too (57%). Did anyone keep track of all the numbers so we can compare?

I would be very interested in knowing the wieghts of the different cars. Are we going to post that somewhere?

Here are my weights.

Engine - 460 BBF
Factory Five Roadster
Fuel Load - 1/4 tank
Total weight w/Driver - 2812

Front Total - 1313 - 46.7%
Rear Total - 1498 - 53.2%

Right Front - 621 - 22%
Left Front - 693 - 24.6%

Right Rear - 746 - 26.5%
Left Rear - 752 - 26.7%

Right Side Total - 1367 - 48.5%
Left Side Total - 1445 - 51.3%

I'm most suprised by the front to rear weight difference. Thought sure I would be heavier in the front. I have my battery and a small tool box (about 15 lbs) in the back. I'm thinking I could increase the Right Front weight, but it's handling fine like it is to me. So, I think I will leave it alone. Everyone got a sheet that night that weighed. I believe Mike's Coupe was the lightest if I recall. Others had a lot in the trunk. Not near as light as I thought, been telling everyone for years it weight 2300 and 2500 with me in it.
