check out this garage

Missing 1 thing needs above ground rack - never saw any air lines for tools and drop light reels.

I don't want to sound like "sour grapes"....and I do like the concept of a "garage condo"...but....

That is a very nice man cave...and living space. It is not however.... IMHO.... a working shop. At least not yet.

I'm with Mike on this. It appears it was designed by someone who has not worked in a shop but built what he thought would be a really nice place to hang out....and it is. It just is missing too many necessary features to be a "working" shop.

As Mike mentioned...no air lines or O/H light reels. No lift. No large floor grinders/buffers. No welder. No Plasma Arc. No welding table. No lathe. No Mill. No Glassbead cabinet. No Band saw. No Cut off saw. No floor AND bench drill presses. No hydraulic press. No parts washers. No sheetmetal brake or shear. No large air compressor. No roll around work benches.

In all fairness...those things may come...and I'm sure he can afford what he needs, but to install a large flat screen plasma TV before installing any of the REAL tool needs suggests his priorities are askew.

I don't know Kerry, you have to have a flat screen to watch Horsepower TV on the weekends :D I'm going to say that he hasn't gotten to that part yet. Heck, I don't have half the stuff you mentioned....oh yeah, I don't have a mancave :D

I did install sat. TV in my garage before the house was complete, and before we moved in. I think it is constantly turned to Speed, or the Cardinal games.

I like to get my work done, but also enjoy the other things as well.

I know 1 tool that will pinch the s*(^ out of your fingers, the blessed english wheel - you will learn very fast how to use or you will give up.

Gentlemen

In the farming community, they often refer to "gentlemen farmers". You know, the guys who own a Cub Cadet and call it a tractor.

Is this the same thing? it sure is pretty, but I like Mike and Kerry's list of necessities better

I prefer to think he hasn't got all of that stuff installed yet. Personally I see nothing wrong with having both the tools listed and staged in a work area and the creature comforts. Everything shown is brand new. I like not having stains or greasy palm prints on the wall. Someplace you can work on the car and then have the guys over to watch a race on a big flat screen surrounded by a clean environment filled with machinery and racecars. Best of both worlds. :D
