The only "proof" is from a known liar who wrote a book about it. Mark possesses all of the physical features a steroid user would, larger body, larger head, larger arms.... all things that could also be attributed to an aging man. Do I suspect he did? Yes. Do I have proof? No. Will he talk? The ownership and the manager says, "yes" he will talk about it and address the issue. Not sure if it was a stipulation on him coming back or not. Will the media be all over him, I'm sure they will, but the year he hit 70 they were all over him too. All I know is, the Cardinals DID NOT HIT the last two months of the year. Someone wasn't coaching them during this time properly. Just as a pitching coach has a game plan depending on the hitters the other team has, a hitting coach must coach his hitters on how to hit a particular pitcher. Although, the pitching coach can't control the lineup, it seems baffling to me the trouble the Cardinals have with left handed pitching. Shouldn't matter at this level.
Something else to think about, was this signing an attempt to get on the fence players with contracts expiring to sign? New players to sign? We'll see.
