Can anyone help me with a small metal lathe project?

I'd like to fabricate a small rear-view mirror aluminum bracket, turned on lathe.
I need to locate a small piece of aluminum stock too. Finished, about: 1/2" x about 3" (probably need a 6" piece of stock).
Should be a pretty simple turn.
