I found a dealer that has Goodyear Eagle GT IIs in the now out of production size of 295 50 r15 !!! That's big news. They are all date coded from 2007. He might be the last dealer in the country to have these tires. The price is an unbelievable 97 dollars each. He's working out shipping costs for me. HE HAS 22 IN STOCK !

I'm going to get at least 4 for me. If you want some, this might be your last chance to buy. Call me or e-mail quickly so we can coordinate a group buy before they are gone forever.

I can ask - I'll bet they do.
Talking Goodyear Eagle GT II - raised white letter.
You wanna?

Call me, PM me. e-mail me.

If they have a pair of 275/50/15 in anything other than a drag radial at a price similar to yours (under $120 ea.) I'll take 2.

Thanks!

Put me down for two

I know that as soon as I buy these, Goodyear will announce they are going to make these available for everyone forever, but I'll do my thing to help make this happen. :)

Two Please

Paul

That makes 12 total.
Actually - I don't think they are going to make them anymore. I'm buying 6.
Between flats, burnouts, and track days on street tires - 6.

x2 on what Mike said. Do a search on this. There was an ABC news story about this a few years ago.

I know what you mean. But, this isn't some guy - It's the largest tire company on the XXX coast. I'm sure they are stored in optimum warehouse conditions with 100,000 other tires.

Don't harsh my mellow dude ! ;)

Finding these tires is a really big deal. I won't even tell where I buying, else they'll be gone.

Can almost bet there is not any kind of warranty. Most tire manufacturers say after tire is either 3 or 5 years old 00000 nota nothing This will help you

WHEN DOES THE WARRANTY END?
Wrangler® HT, Marathon® – Tire has
delivered its full, original tread life and the
new tire coverage of this limited warranty
ends when the treadwear indicators become
visible, or six (6) years from the date of
original tire manufacture or new tire purchase
date. (Without proof of purchase, date of
manufacture will be used to determine age.)
Unisteel® G149 RSA®, G169 RSA®,
G670 RV® – Tire has delivered its full,
original tread life and the new tire coverage
of this limited warranty ends when the
treadwear indicators become visible, or
five (5) years from the date of original
tire manufacture or new tire purchase
date. (Without proof of purchase, date of
manufacture will be used to determine age.)
G647 RSS®, G614 RST® – Tire has
delivered its full, original tread life and the
new tire coverage of this limited warranty
ends when the treadwear indicators become
visible, or four (4) years from the date of
original tire manufacture or new tire purchase

My 2 cents, 'dry rot' is BS. Sun light will affect the exterior of the tire, but have little effect on the body of the tire. Any tire stored inside will be good for a long time. I farmed for 40 years, my grain trucks had tires that were often ten years or more older. These trucks carried 30000# and more, never had a 'dry rot' failure. How long will these tire last and how many miles till they are worn out? Has for warranty, Goodyear stood behind mine (wouldnt balance), even though I had it in storage for 3 yrs, they measured tread depth, and considered it new.
Tire companies love date codes, they can now sell more tires to 'nanny state protect me from everything' worry warts.

I would just be careful you have alot of $$ tied up in your cars and I don't think cheaping out on tires is the best idea and many of us run these creatures at fast speeds. You ever have a tire failure at about 120 I did in a super stock drag car - cheaped out on front tires use vw tires on pizza cutter wheels, was very lucky only damage to car was inner alum sheet metal work and a pair of skivies. Had pinch marks in the seat on that 1

The company said they had these particular tires in stock that were older than 6 years old and they refused to sell them to me - excellent. They refuse to sell any tire older than 6 years old. The 22 that they did offer to me are coded 2007 or newer. They are new tires with warranty - but that hardly matters. The new tires I have on my car right now only made it 15,000 miles - because of my driving habits - warranty schwarranty. As long as they are round and hold air I'm fine.

I looked at the Mickey Thompson tires. They are great. But I like the big white letters saying Goodyear Eagle. I also like that they are not too sticky. Sticky tires break parts. I would rather have the tire break lose every now and then. It let's me know I'm getting a little to rowdy and need to back off. Also with money I'm saving on purchasing a new matching set of Mickey's or Hoosiers - I can afford to eventually get a set of track tires and wheels at some point if I decide to pursue future tack days. For now, a good supply of street tires at a good price is just fine with me.

Put 'em on a truck and get them here! Still gonna whoop ya on the track though :p :D

On the truck

The deal has come together, Mark, Skip and Rich, check your PM's
