Big brother strikes again

If you stay offporn sites, this crap doesn't "appear" on your phone. Not on my RIM device. Maybe "big" brother has a beef with these companies and want to damage their reputation....just sayin. I am pretty sure there is nothing most of us talk about that "big" brother is interesred in that they can't find out about you on the internet...or say a database.

My subject line was misleading. The government has its own ways of monitoring internet traffic. Who I don't trust are software vendors and website purveyors. How do these guys get by providing services for free? By selling advertising and your personal information. The fact that some application is capturing all your texts, password, account information, etc is no real surprise.

IMHO - privacy is a romantic notion from days gone by a long time ago. You're tracked 100s of times each day inside and outside of your home by many public and many private entities for any number of reasons using all manner of technology. If the government wants your blood, hair, urine, DNA, or even your organs - they'll take it.

2X on that Mark. Privacy died when everyone decided Facebook was the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I will point this out below:

Does your phone have Carrier IQ?

Eckhart’s original report has shown that Carrier IQ has been discovered on HTC and Samsung devices, and that CarrierIQ counts Sprint among their domestic carrier clients. AT&T also appears to use Carrier IQ on their devices: a member of the XDA-dev forums called AT&T and was told that Carrier IQ is indeed preloaded on the HTC Vivid. Other carriers, including Verizon, Vodafone, and O2 have all denied that they use Carrier IQ on their devices
