Allright GCC Guys Let's start a straw poll for the best Hamburgers in the St. Louis area. Nothing beats a good ole thick juicy hamburger. Some say it's McConnel's on the Hill. Some say it's Blueberry Hill in U city. I've tried both & neither blew me away. Other opinions??? Weigh in here. State your opinion. Why does your favorite place for a good ole thick juicy hamburger get your vote????

Here's a couple you may not have heard of . . .

If you consider Branson, MO to be in the "St. Louis Area", I nominate Billy Bob's Dairyland on the 76 strip. I have never enjoyed a burger so much. And it is only 193 miles from my house.

Dave, we should make a one day run down there some Saturday - Cobras or ??? Head out early, eat lunch at BB's DL, cruise around, head back mid afternoon, and then eat at that "Z place" (???) in Rolla for evening meal on the way back.

Then, of course, there's Popeye's favorite. . . "Wimpy's" . It's a goody, too, and I'll nominate that joint in a heartbeat. It has been around since 1935!! It is a Washington landmark. Right in the middle of town. My Dad ate there when he was a young fellow. They still serve brain sandwiches, too!!

Are you seeking nominations and then as many of the members as can, try them and vote or what??

A Hambuger Cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love that idea!!!!! U rock Naj. Next time we cruise to Wash. Mo. let's eat @ Wimpy's.:D BTW I'll pass on the brain sandwiches, liverwurst, braunschweiger & weird stuff like that. BTW I like the voting idea too. :D

The Sportspage on the corner of Olive and 141. Located on the strip mall that runs north and south. Great burgers and steak fries.

This started out..........................

as best Hambugers in STL area thread, but how bout a monthly Dinner Cruise in the winter months in lieu of monthly membership meetings. We could get ideas & suggestions & hopefully agree on a date, time & place. What do you guys think??????????

Kind of like a 'cousin's club' dinner? Yeah, doing that one already, but hey, I'm from Arkansas so everyone's my cousin :D Randy, forgot about them, you are right. mmm mmm good. In addition to the burgers, how bout homemade chips?

Keith, my mom used to work at Wimpy's...

...in Japan near Tachikawa Air Base wayyyyyyyy back in the 60's/early 70's. Didn't think there was any in existence. Will have to take her out there sometime! I honestly can't say I've EVER had a burger that was memorable, though. My favorite, so far, is the Banzai Burger at Red Robin.

One of the Best .....................

burgers I've ever had was @ McGuire's Irish Pub in Destin, FL. Yuuuuummmmmmmmmie! I'll be gettn another one in 2 months when we go down for our annual 10 day Chrismas Break. :D BTW I've only been to Red Robin once & thought over-rated not gormet. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. BTW II Did any of you guys see something on food network about the place in Penn. (Philly?) that serves up a burger that weighs up something like 5lbs? BTW III Maybe we should organize a cruise to Amarillo, TX to see if anybody can down the big texan in one hour. If you accept the challenge they will put you up on stage, give you 1 hour to eat 72 ozs of steak, baked potato, salad, desert & bread & if you succeed you eat for free. :D The guy who set the record did it in 29 mins & asked for seconds. :D my hero!

Haven't heard of that place in a long time! I patronized the one in Pensacola when away on business. Did you ceremoniously place your dollar on the wall? I have hung a few there myself
