I received this from MACC:
The Mid America Cobra Club has reserved the entire Metropolitan Community College performance driving center for a PRIVATE auto cross event on June 11 from 8am to 3pm. Only 40 spots open at $40/spot!
We are formally inviting your club to join us!
Spots will fill up fast. Please let me know - we will hold 5 spots for you.

Let me know soonest if you would like to attend this joint event with our across state sister club. As mentioned, they have reserved 5 spots for us. It's a Saturday, so, we could potentially travel out on the 10th and back home on the 11th after the event.

Interested...put me down for 1 spot!!

Should be a fun day and I look forward to getting to know more of the KC members.

I'm trying....have to get car aligned, and hope for first shakedown cruise this weekend. I will let them know 2 for now.

but, you just got back! Mike - just me and you I guess. I still need to talk to Linda to make sure. I told them I would have an answer by Sunday evening on who and how many were coming.

Tim, our club should be represented so I will go even if you cannot. It looks like a hotel in the Blue Springs area around Hwy70 & 7 would work best for Friday night? Mike

Some pics from the autocross with the Mid American Cobra Club. Tim and I will share more at tomorrow's meeting. Was a great opportunity to improve your driving skills! I know I was reminded that I have a lot to learn!! Tim did great and was one of the drivers to watch and learn from. :D IMG_0971.JPGIMG_0972.JPGIMG_0973.JPGIMG_0974.JPGIMG_0975.JPGIMG_0976.JPGIMG_0977.JPGIMG_0978.JPGIMG_0980.JPGIMG_0981.JPGIMG_0991.JPG

2017 MACC Autocross Info

We talked a little about this yesterday. This year's date IS 5/13, not 5/14 as discussed (5/14 is the rain out date). Here's a link to the flyer - http://www.midamericacobra.org/uploads/3/2/7/8/3278339/macc_autocross_entry_form_and_info_-_2017.pdf

You will need to complete page 2.

The address is...a little off. Here's the address of the driveway in to the performance driving center - 1317 S Powell Rd, Independence, MO 64057. There are several hotels in the area, Mike and I stayed at the Hampton Inn Blue Springs, but, parking was tight. There is a Marriot by Courtyard nearby that has plenty of parking, and rates are $150ish/night for two queen beds.

Who is going?
Me
Keith Wilson
Jim Dooley?

Others? Let me know.

I think Drury Inn and Suites would be our best bet for parking and such. On google maps - https://goo.gl/maps/yndaq74Fzsp Rate is $159/night...anyone opposed to sharing rooms? If not, would be $80/night. I made a reservation, and the total is $184.15. I can cancel without penalty if this isn't in the right price range. Let me know!

I'm not opposed to sharing, and I'm told I don't snore. (have to ask Rich) ;)

When were you thinking of leaving? and coming home?
Everyone planning to trailer their car?

Leave 5/12 late afternoon arriving there around 7ish. I will be trailer....just because I have one. Keith will be driving his car I'm sure. Jim Dooley will be trailering I'm sure.

I'm planning on doing going and trailering there Friday afternoon. hopefully be there between 4 and 5. Who's rooming with whom and anybody need a roommate?

I received an e-mail from Ian on this and reading above, I can see that we aren't very clear on plans. So, here it is:

- We will LEAVE St Charles area around 4 - 4:30pm and arrive at the Drury Inn & Suites in Blue Springs around 7 - 7:30pm. Can leave before then if you want as I want to get ahead of traffic.
- Hotel website - ONE night Stay only https://www.druryhotels.com/locations/kansas-city-mo/drury-inn-and-suites-kansas-city-independence
- We can wait until we get there to eat at a nearby restaurant (Bass Pro has a great place :-) )
- We need to be at the track no later than 7:30, preferably, a little before. Link to the track - https://www.kcrscca.org/our-racing/solo-racing/solo-racing-our-venues/
- Complete this flyer and get your money mailed in BEFORE 5/1 - http://www.midamericacobra.org/uploads/3/2/7/8/3278339/macc_autocross_entry_form_and_info_-_2017.pdf (there are details on this flyer for you to read as well)
- You should bring, besides yourselves and your car, a helmet, some water on ice, a chair, an extra can of fuel or two, tire pressure gauge, extra shirts to change into for the ride home, shoes that do NOT have long shoe laces, and driving gloves if you have them. Snacks for energy before they serve lunch.
- I will bring a canopy, but there are typically plenty set up.

Wives are most welcome. Linda I don't think will be coming, but there will be several wives there from MACC. They will provide lunch, or, at least did last year. There is a bathroom facility on site. You will be required to attend the driver's meeting and walk the track prior to getting on it with your car. Last year, there were 4 classes, and each class ran 4 times. Once you were done, you parked your car, then walked out to work the cones/corners. It is a ONE DAY event, but, you will run probably 12 times and will be tired by the end of the day. I think Mike and I left around 4pm and were home by 8pm.

At this time, I know the following people are going:
Me
Keith
Mark
Rick H
Jim D
Dan T

Others, let me know. Any other questions, post them below.
