autocross sunday june 5th

My brother will be in town, not sure what time he leaves, may come after though.

If I can catch a break in the Sunday morning routine, I'll try to join you again.
That ride was a blast! "Thank you sir, may i have another?"

awesome, you guys are always welcome

I run from 10 to 12 and work the course 12 to 2

tim bring your brother out and give him some excitement

Sunday was event 4 and ended up being a very hot day. Course was fast and technical at the same time. 1st time I have had to hold it on the rev limiter across the finish.

Second event on the Hankooks and 1st on the new #700 eibach springs up front. Car feels more neutral and shows a combination of over and understeer.

On run 4 my co-driver laid down a smoke screen across the entire course. It was from the cap from the power steering resevoir which blew off and lodged between the engine block and the frame. Everytime my co-driver Gary turned right the PS fluid would dump all over the left headers. Some also got on the brakes and caught on fire. By the time we got the hood open the fire had gone out, and no damage was done. We were able to pry the cap out of it's hiding place and rig it good enough to get it home. I just bought the parts to fix it...they cost $1.60!

Here is a video of my co-driver's smokey run. Still put up a 48.28 (FTD was a 43 by a Van Diemen) even with the smoke on! Kinda looks like an airshow video.

Mike looks like you guys have a blast out there. Haven't made it out yet but I'll keep trying, you had to freak when you seen your car 'smokin' like that. WTF

Rick:D

Yea Rick I was very concerned it was the motor. When it got close enough to see the smoke was from under the hood and not coming out of the exhaust I was relieved...until I saw the flames through the side vent. Then once again relieved to open the hood and find a $2 cap missing and no fire.

We need to get together some night and go for a spin!

Mike, yes we do I'll be out of town tonite but usually I'm home. Mon's and Thur's are a good time for me wife works on those nite so I'm in the garage working.

Rick:)

Yep still stock 350's. I may try the 500's on the rear once to see what it is like. Oversteer is better but not gone.

Handling is a little more crisp and understeers a little sooner at low speed. The ride actually improved some, definately not worse.

Here is a good pic from Sunday:

I took the car to the car wash yesterday. The mess cleaned up nice using lots of high pressure soap.

Yea when you use a pressure washer you never know what you will find underneath.

Speaking of Vettes. There is a 2002 z06 driven by a woman that is 2 seconds faster than me.
