Thought you'd enjoy this one. Holy crap that course is HUGE and he's FAST!

American Auto-x July 19, 2014 Larry Park Memorial 4th run

Wow! Looks like it was an air field or something. Much higher speeds and longer runs a nd curves than I've seen on most courses and videos. Thanks

btw, that's a REAL / original Cobra that ran and won the Optima Battery competition! :D
It's got reinforced chassis tubes, totally re-worked suspension and a 490+in 14-1 FE motor. According to the owner the 2-3 shift occurs @ 105mph.....

in '09 the Cobra spanked 'em in almost all the events

they asked him not to come back.

I did some searching, I found a reference that read like "The Larry Park Memorial event, when they move the cones a little wider than usual..." That looks like it might bet into third and fourth gear speeds, kind of like the high speed autocross on the road courses. That wallom close to the end looked a little generous or shallow offset, close to a straight.

I found the event results, the Cobra was the quickest in his group (and close to the top overall), but not trophied... Some sort of demonstration or fun run?

Can you share the link(s) / information you found?
I'd like some more detail. (there was something faster than this run?? that's scary fast! he's hitting over 105mph?? on an auto-x, sounds like it borders on a solo-track event)

The club/series page is at:
http://www.americanauto-x.com

The American Auto-X Series is an autocross organization, organizing a 10 to 16 event series per year. The series caters to the "American Iron", so therefore the courses are designed somewhat wider than most autocrosses across the nation. The series founder, Larry Park, loved Corvettes, and really enjoyed making them go faster and faster, and since Corvettes need more room to get that horsepower to the pavement, we will continue in that tradition as long as time will allow.

It's under "Classic American Muscle". They are listed as "FR", but ran faster than any of the other cars in that class.

The co-driver/ringer/pro driver ran a 45.0 and 45.3. There are some 42s, 43s, and 44s, but not many.

That quote about the wide course:
http://www.pro-touring.com/archive/index.php/t-99464.html
"The Larry Park memorial event is usually were they push the cones a little wider and open up the courses even more than the usual."
