Are You Registered to Vote

In Missouri, today (Wednesday) is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 2 general election.

The Nov. 2 election is a big one with statewide propositions and elected offices on the ballot including U.S. Senate.

To register to vote you have to be a U.S. citizen who will be at least 18 years old by Election Day.

For more details on registering to vote in Missouri, go to this website of the Secretary of State:

In Illinois, the deadline to register has already passed. It was Tuesday (Oct. 5).

But Illinois residents who missed the deadline can sign up during a grace period that runs through Oct. 26. However, the law requires that during the grace period, people must register at the office of their election authority and — if they want to vote in the general election — to cast their ballot at the same office or by mail at the discretion of the election authority. Those people are not allowed to vote at an early voting center or at a polling place on Election Day.

Yes I am. So which crook get's the benefit of the doubt and my vote this year

Gotta vote for Blunt, although I'm going to hold my nose when I do it. Can't vote for a democrat.

BTW - never missed an election since I was 18. Back then, bars could not open util after the polls closed, and police did not write speeding tickets until the polls closed so as not ti impede somebody on the way to the polling place.

Also, you do realize that the whole thing is rigged against you?

Vote anyway.

hey mark check out carnahans brother that got the money for the wind generators our money spent on this and he only has himself and 2 employees more well spent money by democrats, for some reason the county police do not want dooley back in and whats strange many companies in his back pocket, wife company donates and not just 1 time they launder it though 4 different companies in st louis as contributions didn't think thats quite legal.

Anyone have a good reference site for the candidates? Finding it hard to know what is and isn't the truth

Truth? Good luck with that one.:( It really is sad what politics in this great country of ours has degenerated into. Maybe it's always been this way & I'm just naive. I'll just be glad when the monotonous TV political ads are over. BTW I did vote early. In one office I just couldn't bring myself to vote for either of the candidates in the traditional parties. the other two choices were the libertarian party & the green party. Good old corrupt ILL politics. :o:(

Well they didn't take the Senate and Ried is still there, but big gains overall. Hopefully we can get a bunch of people back to work this next year. My personal favorite was my state rep Mike Frame was ousted for a guy named Paul Curtman. Hopefully he'll bring some good insight into the areas politics. I saw that Todd Akin survived as well.
