A while back I purchased a new Android phone. I have discovered that the accelerometers in it are pretty amazing. I am wanting to do a side by side comparison against a G-tech to see how far off it is.
So far I have tried 2 things to verify the numbers.
1. Turn it on it's side and the lateral axis reads exactly 1 G.
2. I pushed my fullsize truck in a turn until it started sliding and it read .69 G's. This is very close to the number most trucks and SUVs pull in most car magazines.
The reason to question it is because of the huge numbers I have seen in my Coupe on cold street tires. In a low speed slalom it pulls 1.19 G's and around a high speed turn it pulled 1.29 G's. We then tried it in my friend Jeff's roadster and pulled 1.10 G's. His roadster has Sumis 315R and 275F so I was suprised that Sumis were able to pull over 1 G.
Any thoughts? Anybody have a G-tech that we could do a side by side with?
Mike
