Have seen quite a few at the Nastalga drags in years past.
They run real well and have their own unique sound...

Does it not seem that his stacks would cause a low pressure area at the intake and cause a rich condition at speed? Like a scavenger pipe angled exhaust tip. Are they backwards or maybe it is a TQ.

Note the snow!!

Flatheads

I grew up in Virden, IL a small town, just south of Springfield. Spent many hours with a local drag racer named "Stan Lomelino" Stan was well known in drag racing for what he could do with a flat head engine. I've seen blown, injected, dual, everything imaginable. Really brings back memories. Here's a picture of one of his cars from the early 60's

So, that's two flatheads end to end right? How much horsepower? Awesome pic, I might try to print it out for my home office decor :D

Love that pic Paul

What is that block in the front for? Do I dare ask if that is a concrete block to keep the wheels on the ground in the front?

Nostalgia

Dave and all,
I've raced with the H.A.M.B. bunch. A great group. lot of fun.

Cool

So Paul when do ya wanna go??????? :D BTW Did ya ever race @ Whitehall Dragstrip or the old Alton Dragway? I was @ the Alton Dragway when I was a kid the day Chris Karamacenes broke the 200mph barrier. He was racing against Don Garlits. I saw Hurst Hemi under glass. The little red wagon. Art Arffon's Green Monster. Don the snake. Chitown Hustler/best burnouts bar none! Ronnie Sox. Grumpy Jenkins. All the "good ole guys." I still LOVE the 40 Willys old gasser style look. Saw several 40 Willys Gassers I would love to have @ Frog Follies this year. Isn't Smokey Jennings Chevy big in Valmeyer/Virden? Cool stuff. BTW I'll bet Tim's right about the fuel container on the front of that rail. With all that weight in the center, he probably didn't need anymore to keep the front wheels on the ground & I'm sure he didn't want anymore weight. Was it a white plastic fuel container?
