Superformance unveils contemporary MKIII-R Cobra

Not sure that I'm a fan of the modifications. I like the airdam and the nose treatment, but overall it's too much for me.
Looks like they de-chromed it too.

I saw that email as well. And agree...I really like the front nose and the airdam is nice, but don't care for the rest of the modifications.

But I get it that they are more for performance than looks.

Look forward to seeing one though!

Looks aggressive to me. Like the front and also the rear...those “fins” what are they called...I like that look, says FAST! Wonder if that is a part that can be bought and installed (the fins on the rear)... overall It looks business to me....I do not like the side vents (looks like trying to copy BDR- I don’t think it is or was a popular option) in summary front and back OK..sides not so much...

I think it is a different look that would have been better served by ditching the conventional stripe treatment and going with a paint job that showcased the side vents and hood vent. They look “added on” as it is.

Nicely worded Kent...I agree!

Backend looks good, the front chin spoiler is ok. The scoop or cut out on the nose is pointless, and although I like the Backdraught vents behind the wheels, these are too large and FUGLY with the AMG style ribs. Maybe in person I wouldn't have that throw up in my mouth.

From an aesthetic perspective…I think the new design is gaudy and inappropriate for a classic body like the Cobra.

But…from an aerodynamic perspective I suspect a great deal of thought went into the body modifications shown.

The nose scoop…if functional… would help lower pressure buildup ahead of the radiator, improving high speed stability while adding frontal down force.
The split multi directional front spoiler would add additional frontal down-force while helping to reduce underbody air pressure…and…directing air to each front brake assembly.
The fender vents help relieve pressure build up in each wheel well. The added AMG ribs I definitely don’t like aesthetically…but…perhaps they were deemed necessary for structural support of the long vents. Even then…a much shorter support could have sufficed. But the vents serve a practical purpose.
The rear air diffuser is a proven design that aids high speed stability by a laminar controlled relief of underbody air flow.

As bad as the body looks cosmetically…I think it could be substantially more aerodynamically efficient and could make for a safer high-speed platform.
Just too ricer looking for most people on the street.

I love the nose and front spoiler, lie the wheel well vents but could do without the little ridges in them, and I just plain don't like the rear diffuser. I get the functionality and I like that. I got to wonder though if the bottom of the car is panned in order to make the diffuser more effective and slipstream the air underneath.

I have to agree with Tim, I'd trade in a minute. I bet that car is very stable at high speed.

I don't like the wheel well vent ridges. And don't care to much for the nose vent, but understand the purpose. The rest looks good to me. I'd drive it. I do like the color scheme. Similar to what mine is going to be but with a little more spice.

The hood vent is in the wrong place. It's venting air out of the area ahead of the radiator. Which, of course, would decrease cooling and does not release the under hood pressure. For it to actually be a benefit, it needs to be behind the radiator, like a Daytona Coupe.
As quoted from our buddy Bob Cowan

Good point Rich. I missed that.
