That's it. The G-Meter wins the race.
No we can all go back to typing on the computer.
Glad that's solved.:D

Thing is - You're both right. The guy in the video didn't post a printout of his pull so we don't know anything for certain. But, it's totally possible that it could be true. 1000+ HP is quite possible and he could have it in that car on that pull - but we can't say for sure without the print out.

The same could be said of your set-up. We don't know. It's possible that your car is very powerful - but we don't have any documentation of that either. A dyno pull would go a long way towards that assertion.

As for the meter - since we are talking about dyno pulls - it's irrelevant.

Racing? That's different. That's a test of power and skill. The most powerful car does not always win as you know.

And my G String and all of my strings are always in perfect tune.:D

Now way can he put that to the ground on a steet car. It would just blow the tires off it.
Remember its a short wheel base car and how is he going to get any weight transfer. That nothing but a waste. And on the track in corners it would have to be a bear to handle and if he put any kind of differental to help keep tires stuck to pavement it would be like mine f-ing horrible if you stab in in a corner. locks both axles and away it goes. And yes very possible 1000 hp but untill shown ????

Actually with a turbo it is simple math. He ran 834hp on 13 psi. The math says that is a 400-430 hp engine normally aspirated. 400ish hp on a Dart 408 is very conservative and if you pump 13 psi into it the 800+ hp number will happen. He has also run the thing as high as 23psi which on a 408 with 225 AFR heads will make some monster numbers.

I find the track argument funny as I spent all day yesterday at the track and the only member that showed is not finished building his car yet. Too bad because it was a very fast course and alot of fun.

Mike M, as I said, come to a road course and you will not want to do autocross much anymore. I get my thrills from speed, which you can't achieve on an autocross course. With road course events, I am able to get on the track for 20 - 25 minutes at a time every hour or so. With autocross, you run, then you're done in 20 - 25 minutes for the rest of the day. Sorry, but you probably won't see me on an autocross course. I believe you explained to me that you pay your $15, you make your runs at your scheduled time, then you are there the remainder of the day 'working' the corners watching everyone else run. Just don't think I would like standing for a few hours instead of being on the course. I guess we could start an argument on what qualifies as a track and what qualifies as a course. I get it, you enjoy it, and your car is good doing autocross, great! I've done it, just didn't like it, not my cup of tea. We are a driving club, and the four members that showed up in their cars yesterday for Snake & Eggs wanted to drive, that's what we did, and we had a great day, as, I'm sure, did you.

Mike W - Mark explained it well - we are talking dyno numbers, not 1/4 mile times, not if he can hook up on the street, we are ONLY talking dyno numbers. Just as every dyno is different, don't you think every G-Tech is different? Please, address only the dyno and whether or not the car, with this setup, can achieve 924rwhp.?

For the rest of you reading this, if you made it this far, I'm sorry :D But let me say that I'm not angry/frustrated or anything, just having a spirited discussion with Mike on these numbers. Yep, it's way off topic, but mostly related. I get the accuracy of the g-tech and all, but if you don't do an actual run down the track with a time or get on a dyno, it's all just numbers, ain't it?

I am going to close this thread unless there's objection to it. Not much useful info is coming out and I don't want anyone feeling like I'm not biased on moderating I guess. If you think it should be re-opened, PM me. Thanks.
