63 Split Window

I like the guys ad. It may fall apart if you move it and may perturb some animals. Know what you are about, make me an offer, I will sell it when ready...

What a project. Hey Mike (ASnake) or Dave...you need another stable mate for your garage?

Why the 'rust' pits on the driver's side? Guess I didn't realize these were metal body cars.

That's not rust...it's some type of surface deterioration in the paint and fiberglass. This vette and all others are fiberglass bodies. I'm guessing this will not be a cheap rebuild due to the car sitting out in the NW elements for 34 years :(

I thought all were fiberglass bodies. So, if the body is all fiberglass, besides stripping the paint, what else could be wrong with the body?

Fiberglass will delaminate if left exposed to UV long enough without protection (i.e. paint). It will then get brittle and spider crack.

In college, I took on a racing sailboat (420 - http://www.club420.org/) restoration project that had gone through a punctured hull, sinking, recovery, and then it sat in the sun like this for a few years. It was a painful discovery of how bad fiberglass can get when left to the elements.
