• For all members (past, current, and new)

THANK YOU ALL FOR HELPING TO GET THIS CLUB OFF THE STARTING LINE !!!

To begin your membership with Gateway Cobra Club please submit your vital information to our club registrar/Treasurer: Paul Proefrock

    Please include your:

Name, address, phone numbers (work, home, cell) e-mail, etc. Also, tell us about your Cobra (make, model, year, colors, engine, options, stage of build, etc.), where you bought it, any other particulars. Also include other vehicles, birthdays, your occupation & company, and any other details about you and you significant others. BTW - this info will not be posted on-line (EVER). It's just for us - to make the club better. We will eventually create a database for internal club use only.

We will begin collecting dues soon to enable the activities that we have planned for the year - so stay tuned for that.

FINALLY - get involved. Attend the meetings, schedule some cruises, and have some fun. We want to make this club fun (for the whole family). We're small (for now) but we're going to make a big noise here in St. Louis. In the end - this club will only be as good as our members participation.

Thanks for joining us - see you in the fast lane!

Hello, thought I'd write an introduce myself. I'm an artist and also a racer/trackday participant, although with bikes. I'm a member of MCRA (midwest cafe racers association) and we also use Gateway Int'l for our events too. For our track events, we mainly use the interior road course and only the main straight...not sure how they split it up for the cars.
I met Ben (mrphotoman) at our last event in October, right after the Run 'N Gun event, and have since been using his photographs to do original art pieces from as reference since I have yet to be able to find a track photographer that can get results such as his. I've done quite a few bikes of our members (have yet to do one of myself on the track) and quite a few other commissioned original works across the country. I'm also going to be donating some pieces to the Barber Motorsports Museum and also to Racing 2 Save Lives for charity auctions coming up soon.
I'm currently finishing up one now of a Ford GT on the track to show you what I can do. It's all original hand drawn art work.
In any event, I wish I knew of the Run 'N Gun event before hand since I would have liked to see it. As mentioned, Our motorcycle racing event was the following weekend.
So, that's my story in a nutshell, keep an eye out for the art work posted soon!
If you're curious, go back to mrphotoman's website and look under MCRA, I'm on bike #890 and you can see some shots of our track events.

Welcome Aboard...........

Darrell/"dwhite." KerryO, aka, Kerry & Kathy, aka, K&K, is an ex(?):D-drag bike racer. I'm sure you guys will enjoy swapping stories. :) Thanks for the self introduction. I look forward to seeing your art work. An artist did a portrait of my 57 vette parked in front of my home. Now I need some art work to go with it of my beast. :D Can you say possible Christmas present for Dave? :D I look forward to meeting you.

Darrell, anyway you can post a sample either here or at Ben's site? The GT-40, #33 I assume?

Thanks, and good to be here! Drag bikes...wow! That's 0 to mach 4 in the blink of an eye! I've never done that, but have seen a few on the 1/4 mile a couple times.
Yep, it's the #33 GT40. Believe me, there were quite a few I wanted to do but that red really popped.
I'm expanding my portfolio by doing more cars now. I've done so many bikes that it's getting out of control. Last few cars that I've done were a '63 Avanti and a '56 Chevy Bel Aire. Got started in aviation art, but it really didn't interest me that much. Might as well do pieces of things that I'm either involved in or more of an interest in.
Will post up some images soon...also have a few progress pics of it in the making.

Welcome Darrell, Beautiful art work!

My son Andy is an MCRA member and my Wife and I enjoy going to Gateway for the bike track days. $5 to get in and $5 for lunch makes a cheap enjoyable day with some good guys. Andy rides a red 600RR, #351 I think. I'll try to look you up next season at the track.

Very cool! I'm sure I've seen him over there, although don't think I've met him directly off hand. I'm usually pitted in the paddock, dark gunmetal 1000RR #890, swing by if you ever see me!
