how did you mount the Kirkey vintage seat (#55185V)? If you got the 17" or 18", any issues with fit?

The 18 inch I bought years ago from another member. It had a welded from it fit over. I have bolts that go though the welded piece and through the floor. That one is very tight and is slightly off square, but the newer 17 hasn't been mounted yet. It does however seem to have more room. I was going to go with the Kirkey mounts for it.
