Does anyone have any experience with any of the Payroll Services companies?

I am tired of hasseling with the government on filings and looking to ADP, PayChex or QuickBooks Payroll Services. Anyone have any recommendations.

Small company, less than 10 employees. Payroll with Federal and State filings for Missouri, Iowa and Kansas

I have experience with ADP from a car dealer service management side but nothing on payroll. Only know about Paychex, an account friend recommended them as a potential.

We use Quickbooks for our accounting system and they offer a semi-automated filing but I am a little leery of Intuit. Don't have the greatest confidence in them.

Any suggestions?

Paul

I'll ask Linda to respond, she's worked on payroll for a couple of companies.

Paul:

My company does its own payroll filings. 7 employees in MO, NC and WI. QuickBooks is our accounting software.

My assistant / bookkeeper has spare time during her day. I've always wanted to offer her services to another small business in order to get more bang for the bucks I'm paying her.

If you're interested give me a call.

Paul,

Contact me at the office (636-530-3424). I have contacts at all the payroll companies in STL (big and small). I will give you the folks to contact, and you can weed them out from there.

I worked for an accounting firm and that's what we did payroll for small businesses but I would never recommend them to anyone. A lot of accountants do payroll. We use a program where I'm at now called Pen Soft. It couldn't be easier to use and all the reports print so filling them is not a big deal.

I use QuickBooks Pro...get with your accountant and see if they can use it...takes about 10 minutes to do the payroll each week and all fed info is in there for the 941/940, etc.
I have never had good luck with third party firms doing much of anything for me...if they screw up you are still the responsible party.
I took my info to my accountant on QB 15 years ago and she now has all of her clients using it....mine backs up to her computor automatically every nite...QB is real time....it will tell you what day you go broke.
