What's going on with everyone's cars?

Well that should do it! 26 Lbs of boost. And here Gary and I are only between 8 and 10! Better have a bullet proof bottom end. Can't wait to see that. Thanks Kerry for the boost. Now I have to get back into mine. ;)

Have to find a grinding noise in the front end, replace brake pads and get remaining leaks fixed.

Steve brings up a good item - harnesses - please check your's to make sure they aren't expired. Mine are, I need to replace. Built in 2004, so I know some others are expired unless they have already been replaced.

Tires/Wheels - to undecided on what I want, still looking.

Trailer is my top priority. Once that is purchased, I may be able to decide what I can and cannot buy.

The plan is to run 22-24 lbs boost with 110 octane racing gas with methanol injection and 16-18 lbs with 93 octane pump gas using methanol injection.

The engine has all ARP hardware including head studs, main studs, cam gear retaining bolts and dampener retaining bolt. A standard sized Forged steel Ford crankshaft, Forged H beam Manley Rods with ARP cap screws, Forged flat top SRS Probe Pistons with ceramic coated domes, NTK tool steel top rings, MLS head gaskets, a set of factory new 01 "C" style heads, Mach 1 intake manifold, 1mm oversize intake and exhaust SS valves with undercut intake stems, Champ racing oil pan with (4) baffle doors, Canton windage tray, Melling billet steel gear oil pump, a 10% overdrive Innovations West Aluminum crank damper, and a Teksid aluminum block with 6 bolt mains.

There really isn't anything left to add or modify that would make the engine any stronger or more reliable. If something happens...I have spare blocks, forged cranks, forged rods and pistons.

The Novi 2000 RR supercharger will be fed by an in tank 255 lph submerged Walbro pump with AN-12 line feeding an external SS fuel filter with Paxton inline racing pump capable of supporting 1100 HP @ 65 psi. From there an AN-10 line feeds a Y block with twin AN-8 lines to the return style Steeda fuel rails, through a 1:1 boost adjusting fuel pressure regulator and back via an AN-8 line to the tank.

Engine control is by a 03 Mach 1 auto EEC-V PCM with PATS and rear O2 sensors removed. Fuel injectors are 63 lb Siemens Deka High Impedance units that have been flow matched to within 1%.

The tuner is a guy named Bob Monks who runs STL Mustangs. He has put multiple 3700 lb full body Mustangs into the low 9's @ 157 MPH using a near identical engine combination with both Paxton and Vortech compressors....:D

The weak link for our car will be the 28 spline axles and traction-loc spider gears on the IRS. However, hopefully the low bottom end torque characteristics of the centrifugal supercharger added to the light weight, street tire compound and the 4R70W automatic with 3200 stall PI converter will help to minimize drive line shock and keep the rear end in one piece. The key will be controlling wheel hop. With the Koni 750lb springs on the rear and an added sway bar I hope that can be accomplished. The axles, CV joints and differential gears are all new...but...time will tell.

There....more information shared with the club than most of you ever wanted to hear....:D

I wouldn't say that. It's definitely more than I've heard on your build so far and now I'm axious to hear more. Holy crap that sounds like an awesome engine. Can't wait to see that running. How much will that setup weigh compared to a big block? 1/2 the big block, but with comparable power. Cool.

These are the published weights from Sullivan Performance for each variation of the Modular engine without oil or accessories:

Engine Weights

4.6L SOHC 500 lbs.
5.4L SOHC 525 lbs
4.6L DOHC Aluminum Block 425 lbs
5.4L DOHC 540 lbs
6.8L SOHC V-10 640 lbs.

Without the supercharger and external accessories I'm looking at about 425 lbs.
