    To begin your membership with Gateway Cobra Club please submit your vital information to our club registrar/Treasurer: Paul Proefrock

    Please include your:

    Name, address, phone numbers (work, home, cell) e-mail, etc. Also, tell us about your Cobra (make, model, year, colors, engine, options, stage of build, etc.), where you bought it, any other particulars. Also include other vehicles, birthdays, your occupation & company, and any other details about you and you significant others. BTW - this info will not be posted on-line (EVER). It's just for us - to make the club better. We will eventually create a database for internal club use only.

    We will begin collecting dues soon to enable the activities that we have planned for the year - so stay tuned for that.

    FINALLY - get involved. Attend the meetings, schedule some cruises, and have some fun. We want to make this club fun (for the whole family). We're small (for now) but we're going to make a big noise here in St. Louis. In the end - this club will only be as good as our members participation.

Am I being to analytical or have we seen a sharp decline in new guys in the Cobra community? Throwing out some ideas for the club & management.

Number of items

1) could the new guys (ones who haven't started their build yet) identify themselves? Maybe we can help. We've been where you are and understand your position and interest. We want you involved.

2) do we need to post some posters at the various shops? (Old Dogs, Wyse, other suggestions)

Open to any suggestions. I firmly believe there is not a position called "Plateau" you're either growing or shrinking (dying)

I don't think we're at a plateau or stagnant. I for one have been pleased & impressed with the slow & steady increase in membership. New blood like MikeB, Mark & others have been great additions to the mix. OT BTW Hey Mark let's get the membership list updated. Do you need my help? Then let's send it out by mass email.
 
I met Keith (itzdapig) last night. He came over for a while to look at my car and discuss his upcoming build. He should have his car by end of February. I told him about the local membership and the support he can receive locally as opposed to asking on the FFC forum. There are a few others that have recently joined that were buyers. I'm aware of three folks that are going to be building in 2010. Mark, maybe you know of others? I think we have hit that plateau for now with the economy. Not many are ordering new kits for building due to a lack of funds. Or, there are people that don't know about this club. I think we've done an ok job of getting out and drawing attention to the club. I know I've handed out several business cards and DVD's. The drives that we do, especially in numbers, draw needed attention and talk to a lot of people. There seems to be a large contingent of Cobra owners that I've either seen, been told about or have come up to me that have not joined for one reason or another. All we can do is keep being good representatives for the club, keep getting out and driving and "recruiting" others to join.
 
I am not usually a joiner...but this is a great group of guys. Have only been able to participate in a couple of events due to my being geograpicly undesireable. The events I have attended have been first class...Run N Gun(2008), River cruise last summer, supercruise,Danny/Dave's open house this fall,day at the dyno at Lynch. I just realized I have been to more gatherings than I thought.
I am very pleased with the membership you guys have brought in...not even 2 y/o yet!!!
Word will get out and they will realize this is a family type club.
I enjoy the web site and am trying my best not to offend any one politicly, but MikeW makes it tough on me.

Just wish I was closer to the Arch so I could do some of the w/e get togethers.

Yeah Buddy! You're the best. :) It's guys like you that make the club special & you're married to a sweetheart too. :D Just forget about that Mikey guy. He's nuts! :D He gets me in trouble all the time too. Of course I don't need much help in that department. :p
 
ya old fart she looks half your age - I would think thats a complement ha ha - how did that get you in trouble - O I know she wants new clothes , shoes coat and a couple of new purses - hmm less you can spend on your toys - ha ha
 
She does "revenge spending". Claims she has a long way to go to catch up....especially since the Harley.
That is a compliment to her....makes me look old....I am her "sugardaddy" or so she thinks.
 
I got same problem - now whats new car - got that covered tho - told her look at the parking lot dings on yours and how would that look on a new car your making payments on. I won that 1 I think
 
New Members

I'm going to move this thread to the New Members area.

Yes - we have had a number of new paid members in recent weeks. I have exchanged e-mails with our new friends, but they have not engaged the website. That's ok, as overall club activity is very low during this time of year.

I will be doing our Christmas mailer soon, and will include a member list, welcome letter, and window sticker as usual. So, what I plan is a 2010 kick-off event with our next meeting. I would like to hold our first meeting of the year at Fastlane because we always have good attendance there.

I believe that as a group we need to develop a bit more structure to our event planning. Now, don't get me wrong - Tim has done an outstanding job with Supercruise, and as a group we have all enjoyed the picnic and the other events throughout the year. But, I believe that like other clubs we need to develop a full year schedule. This will give all of our members the opportunity to plan their participation well in advance. The result should be increased participation throughout the year.

So, I think we should form an activity committee (as Tim and I can't do it all). The goal of this group would be to develop a yearly calender of a diverse set of activities - cruises, Snakes & Eggs, track event, multi-day event, picnic, shows, plus whatever creative gathering they feel may garner support.

So, guys start thinking. Bring your ideas to the meeting (TBA) We'll need a volunteer or two to do some research and coordination. Our members (new and old) deserve this service as part of their continued support.
