2009 RNG Pics and updates

Hats off to you guys for pushing on and running in the rain. The barrel race was doable and both Tim and Randy looked real good out there. The road coarse looked downright scary with the rain coming down and I'm sure that the speeds felt like you were going twice as fast as you really were. Congratulations to everyone for bringing home the hardware! I was there when Randy's wife first saw the damage and she didn't seem concerned at all since she already knew that Randy was OK. Randy, good for you for getting it taped up and getting right back in the saddle to shake that gremlin off your back for the rest of the day, both you and Tim looked like you were running comfortably after a few rain sessions. I have video from both Randy and Tim's runs but won't be able to download it till I get to the office Monday. Here are 4 pics in the mean time.

WOW! Now I feel better. Thanks for the reply Randy. I was scared that I had pissed you off. I look forward to meeting you & your wife & having some fun together. Do you plan to go on Naja's cruise on Sun 10/25 or Supercruise to Ark. from 11/5 thru 11/8?

Thanks for the pics Tom. I know Jim and Paul took more too, wondered if anyone got one of the cars coming down the straight off of Oval 4? Seems like the spray would have been neat to see there. Dave, since his car was backed in to the wall, doubt if cruising around town is at the top of his list :)

Was out of blue duct tape but have some on the way and picked up 2 lights from rural king so i can drive it. Dont know though if the group might be embarresed by the hillbilly patch up. Emailed my painter and he is in the middle of a 65 mtang now but is excited to repair cobra and wants to ghost in some things . Hope to go for a long drive monday???? You guys are going to regret getting me started posting as i tend to dribble on. Watched the video of crash. Made a lot of noise when i hit the wall. Also have vidio of tim's 1 st run on auto cross and for a fee will not share it.:D

Hey Randy You sound like our kinda guy. Crazy, fun & hardy. :D I consider myself a hillbilly from ILL. so don't feel like the lone stranger. Post away man. It's all about fun. Ghosting some things in. Ummmmm. That's sounds intriguing/interesting. Sounds like your going to have some fun with the repairs. 2 lights from Rural King, why didn't ya get em from Billy Bob's in Hardin, IL? :D Do you have a link for the video of your crash yet?

Jim got lots of great water spray shots from various places including out of turn 4. I'm sure he'll post the best ones soon.

Randy. my hat is off to you for getting right back on the saddle and continuing on. That's the spirit. :)

Seeing how well my car handled after the "incident" on the way to RnG, I now really regret not continuing on instead of turning back for repairs. :(

Glad to hear that you all had fun and did so well.

Hey Randy, I won't lie, the first Autocross run was my pucker run :D I did get 10th overall on that though, so I wasn't the slowest. :) Man, thanks for the video Tom.

Congrats Tim - way to hang in there. Thanks for your help at the event. What categories did you win? And, what in the world did I win - biggest looser?

I won 1st place street class road course and Best Novice. Mark, I made a mistake on the third award which was runner up Autocross. The winner was Don Doerer in the street class, I was the runner up. See the times as posted below. And just so no one gives me any crap, which I'm sure you will, I was the only Big Block Street participant, so I couldn't finish worse than first in Road Course and Barrell Race (which they didn't give an award for some reason ) Will bring them along Tuesday.

Thanks for posting the barrel race video! Tim looked really good on his pass. I like it, the wife came over to my car after my last pass and said i needed to go faster into the box, i thought for a little bit , and then i quiped why in the hell didn't you tell me that after the 1 st run. After watching the vidio you can really see i gave a lot of time away going into the box too slow. Dont know how to post my crash video will try to work on that. May need some help. Just drove car with patch up and hillbilly lights. Going to take a short trip tomorrow in cobra.

Randy, probably best to upload the video to Youtube like Tom did and provide the link here.
