I am one of those who suffer from winter depression brought on by short daylight hours and lots of cloudy gray days. Can't even drive the Cobra or change the engine. Can't ride my bike or go for a nice walk. Don't really feel like doing much because of the depression. Luckily I do not have an alcohol or drug problem or I'm sure I would be using right now. I have work to do around the house, but can't seem to get the old motor running (motivation.)

I think the short days are the cause of seasonal depression more than the Christmas holiday, but I find the panic buying distasteful at the least.

We need to get together and do something! I don't like cold and snow and gray!

Hey Carl...

Many of us hear you.

When I start feeling lethargic in winter I drop in a Factory Five DVD and watch the fender to fender racing action. It get's the Adrenalin flowing and all of a sudden you find yourself all perked up....at least for a few hours.

I agree Karl. Try to be patient. We usually get a nice sunny day or two during the winter when the mercury goes up to a decent level when we could get together for a cruise up the river road or where ever. Or we could drive daily drivers on a cold cruise for dinner somewhere if ya want on a weekend.

I'm there with you Karl. I start to feel really glum around this time of year and it lasts until the first winter thaw (when I can get my bike out on the trail and burn off some energy). I'm not an expert, but like was said before....I make a list of projects around the house that will keep me busy, so I don't think about it as much. Funny thing is my list is not getting any shorter....:eek: Also getting together with friends is the perfect cure all.

I am with you guys also. This year it seems worse than others, but I did go sledding with my 4 year old yesterday. Even though I hate snow, we had a great time. A get together after the first of the year is a great idea though!

Wife and I were on the way home yesterday after taking my son to the airport..I said to her I hate this kind of weather and scenery....nothing is green and the sky is cloudy.
But I have come to the following conclusion: it does this every year!!! and we survive !!

Re: Dave's comments; easy to be optimistic when you are sitting on a white sand beach buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Snakey it's cold down here too. Yesterday it only got up to 60 & today there only expecting a high of 50. BUT it is sunny & the sand is white. :p BTW I'm going to try to talk Ter into going condo shopping today. I've been shopping on line & they have some good buys due to the market. A little investing while the market is down is not a bad idea. Only one problem, I have spoiled her with the condo we rent down here. It is for sale for $800,000 & that is just a little outside my budget. :(

Dave: maybe you need to come back north and do some lawyerin'..I would be more than happy to come down and housesit for you while you are earnin' the sheckles to pay for it.
Try to get one on the golf course so I don't have to go too far to tee off.

COOL Kerry, but it would have to be a pretty large hat. Just got back from condo shopping. There was one on the internet that I just knew I was going to love. WELL it wasn't as good as I expected. :( The agent wants to show me one on the golf course tomorrow. Ter thinks we should just continue to rent & skip ownership.

Sorry bout the hijacking of your thread Karl. I'll stop all this condo talk. Later.
