Sunday I took a pretty long ride even though I missed the official cruise. As usual, at one point in the ride I came into a corner a little too fast and had a pucker-moment. These seem to happen regularly in the Cobra, but not in any other car. Makes me realize that I am not the best driver in the world. That coupled with the fact that the Cobra is definitely not an easy car for anyone to drive. So why not just sell the Cobra and buy a Miata? Still get the fun of driving a convertible. Much easier on gas. With snow tires, you can drive it all year. The roof doesn't leak. It has a stereo. Etc.

Am I just that much in love with the shape of the Cobra? Do I have some sort of need to be noticed -- to be the center of attention? Does it make me feel more manly? Does it make me more unique? Do people like me just because of my car?

Thoughts for all of us to ponder......

Maybe...
This funny looking vehicle gives you proof-of-life; albeit in a very shallow and expensive way. Its just a phase in your life (long if you are lucky).

A Miata over a Cobra NO WAY! Sorry for the shouting with the caps & exclamation point. :D:D The Cobra has more sex appeal than the Miata has in it's rear view mirror. The Cobra is faster. The Cobra is a blast to drive. It's a no brainer. Now if your Q was a rhetorical Q then I apologize for my answer. :D:p

All the above. Or to be honest we are probably all overcompensating for something:eek::D(or so our wifes would say). No wait, that is the Ferrarri owner:D:D

Fulfilment of a lifelong dream. Besides, I look cool in it :D .........or so I think. We were at a stop light one day when a women in an Escalade beside us rolled down her window, pointed and yelled "I want that!". I told Linda that I couldn't believe that she would point at my "lap" and say that while my wife was with me . Another day while getting off 64 at Clarkson and sitting in line to make a right turn, an older gentleman in a Cadillac drove down the shoulder and stopped next to me. He had a huge grin on his face and said "man, you've got the world by the nuts don't you?". It's those moments and so many more like them that really add to the every day fun of just driving these cars.

I like my car for numerous reasons...my favorite is to piss off my wifes brother-in-law(he is not my favorite person)who has a ZO6 that he thinks is the only car in the world to own. It will outrun the vette and I have about 1/2 invested that he does.
They are an ego thing with out a doubt.
The most common comments I get are:
"I always wanted one of those".
"Man that must be a blast"
"Would you start it up?"
And my favorite "Could I have a ride sometime?"
I tell them I need a note from thier doctor stating thier heart is in good enough condition to withstand that kind of excitement.
COBRA: better than Viagra
