Who is into Biking?

I usually get a$$ cramps about mile 23 or so.... so good going!! I hope to get out tomorrow and ride the Hamburg Trail....a 16 mile trek, but its an 8 mile uphill grade on the way back....its a nut buster :D Shorter distance....high intensity

Ter & I met a guy from St. Chuck, Mo. today while riding in Edw. He said the Katy trail is the most senic @ Rocheport, Mo. He said they have great B&B places & a great winery with senic views. http://www.bikekatytrail.com/rocheport.asp

About six years ago I rode with friends from McBaine to Rocheport to New Franklin and on to Booneville where we had lunch. We then rode back to McBain... a total of about 45 miles round trip. The route was exceptional. There were multiple old railroad steel girder bridges as well as the stone tunnel and pre Civil War Jail in Rocheport. There are also remnants of an old brick railroad roundhouse in Franklin. Crossing the river at Booneville and riding along the bluffs and under Hwy 70 was very cool. I would recommend the route.

But...the following day I was too sore to walk upright...

The only section that was not scenic was on the east side of Booneville. Between the river and Franklin there is a huge auto salvage yard right along the North side of the trail.

Just got back from the weekend ride. Stiff breeze going southwest towards Defiance, but held 16 mph (whew!!) with one mile of out of the saddle 20 mph burn (ouch!). 17 mph all the way back. Feel great!!!:D

17mph! WOW! You're an animal. :p Ter & I rode the river road from near Elsah thru Grafton & up to Pere Marquette & back today. We did about 15 miles today. More hilly today so it was good.

Rode from Edw to Staunton, IL. & back today. 36.4 miles round trip. Great ride. Took the route they take for the Tour de Donut. :D

Keep in mind we rode over six years ago...but what I recall was that the trail was hard packed 3/4 minus limestone except for some paved access points. But it was still a good surface for the most part. Nothing especially loose and you could make good time and pass slower traffic easily.

Didn't do a dance, but just about "danced" with a dude on the other team. He wanted to play full contact all night, so I kindly obliged. The last battle nearly ended up in dropping the gloves :D so we'll just have to wait until next week.

Gotta love it
