Turns out there has been a whistle blower writing letters to the SEC for the last 9 yrs telling them that Madoff was operating a Ponzi Scheme & they ignored him cause Madoff was/still is rich & powerful! 
Maybe they should rename it & call it a Madoff Scheme instead of a Ponzi Scheme.
