What Really Happened Last Week in Montana

This was sent to me by a friend in Bozeman , MT who was there.

Why do we tolerate this?

Hello All,

By now you have probably heard that President Obama came to Montana last Friday. However, there are many things that the major news has not covered. I feel that since Bill and I live here and we were at the airport on Friday I should share some facts with you. Whatever you decide to do with the information is up to you. If you chose to share this email with others I do ask that you DELETE my email address before you forward this on.

On Wednesday, August 5th it was announced locally that the President would be coming here. There are many groups here that are against his healthcare and huge spending so those groups began talking and deciding on what they were going to do. The White House would not release ANY details other than the date.

On about Tuesday Bill found out that they would be holding the "Town Hall" at the airport. (This is only because Bill knows EVERYONE at the airport) Our airport is actually located outside of Belgrade (tiny town) in a very remote location. Nothing is around there. They chose to use a hangar that is the most remotely located hangar. You could not pick a more remote location, and you can not get to it easily. It is totally secluded from the public.

FYI: We have many areas in Belgrade and Bozeman which could have held a large amount of folks with sufficient parking. (gymnasiums/auditoriums). All of which have chairs and tables, and would not have to be SHIPPED IN!! $$$$$

During the week, cargo by the TONS was being shipped in constantly. Airport employees could not believe how it just kept coming. Though it was our President coming several expressed how excessive it was, especially during a recession. $$$$$

Late Tuesday/early Wednesday the 12th, they said that tickets would be handed out on Thursday 9am at two locations and the president would be arriving around 12:30 Friday.

Thursday morning about 600 tickets were passed out. However, 1500 were printed at a Local printing shop per White House request. Hmmmm......900 tickets just DISAPPEARED.

This same morning someone called into the radio from the local UPS branch and said that THOUSANDS of Dollars of Lobster were shipped in for Obama. Montana has some of the best beef in the nation!!! And it would have been really wonderful to help out the local economy. Anyone heard of the Recession?? Just think...with all of the traveling the White House is doing. $$$$$ One can only imagine what else we are paying for.

On Friday Bill and I got out to the airport about 10:45am. The groups that wanted to protest Obama's spending and healthcare had gotten a permit to protest and that area was roped off. But that was not to be. A large bus carrying SEIU (Service Employees International Union) members drove up onto the area (illegal)and unloaded right there. It was quite a commotion and there were specifically 2 SEIU men trying to make trouble and start a fight. Police did get involved and arrested the one man but they said they did not have the manpower to remove the SEIU crowd. The SEIU crowd was very organized and young. About 99% were under the age of 30 and they were not locals! They had bullhorns and PROFESSIONALLY made signs. Some even wore preprinted T-shirts. Oh, and Planned Parenthood folks were with them.....professing abortion rights with their T-shirts and preprinted signs. (BTW, all these folks did have a permit to protest in ANOTHER area)

Those against healthcare/spending moved away from the SEIU crowd to avoid confrontation. They were orderly and respectful. Even though SEIU kept coming over and walking through, continuing to be very intimidating and aggressive at the direction of the one SEIU man.

So we had Montana folks from ALL OVER the state with their homemade signs and their DOGS with homemade signs. We had cowboys, nurses, doctors you name it. There was even a guy from Texas who had been driving through. He found out about the occasion, went to the store, made a sign, and came to protest.

If you are wondering about the press.....Well, all of the major networks were over by that remote hangar I mentioned. They were conveniently parked on the other side of the buildings FAR away. None of these crowds were even visible to them. I have my doubts that they knew anything about the crowds. We did have some local news media around us from this state and Idaho . Speaking of the local media...they were invited. However, all questions were to be turned into the White House in advance of the event. Wouldn't want anyone to have to think off the top of their head.

It was very obvious that it was meant to be totally controlled by the White House. Everything was orchestrated down to the last detail to make it appear that Montana is just crazy for Obama and government healthcare. Even those people that talked about their insurance woes........the White House called our local HRDC (Human Resource and Development Committee) and asked for names. Then the White House asked those folks to come. Smoke and mirrors...EVERYTHING was staged!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very dismayed about what I learned about our current White House. The amount of control and manipulation was unbelievable. I felt I was not living in the United States of America , more like the USSR !! I was physically nauseous. Bill and I have been around when Presidents or Heads of State visit. It has NEVER been like this. I am truly very frightened for our country. America needs your prayers and your voices. If you care about our country please get involved. Know the issues. And let Congress hear your voices again and again!! If they are willing to put forth so much effort to BULLY a small town one can only imagine what is going on in Washington DC . Scary!!

Every head of state throughout history stages their arrivals and questions. It is not uncommon at all. I had the opportunity to Bartend for Lady Margaret Thatcher when she visited Westminster College in '96. Even her visit was completely staged weeks in advance(food, lodging, schedule, background checks and yes even questions). The only thing that I can remember was the W shoe throw:D. After all who would have thought about someone taking off a shoe and throwing it:eek:.

i just called lisa and kathy is her sister she swore this is 100% true and best part i was just told her hubby bill voted for u guessed obama. was told hes not a happy camper

I have spoken to a number of people who voted for Obama-rama-ding -dong....who are not happy with his performance and have expressed remorse over jumping on his "hope and change" band wagon.....

Someone ought to make bumper stickers that read:

"Obama....what was I thinking???...."

They would be big sellers.

Funny Kerry, kind of like the video you sent :D Sorry Mike, didn't mean for it to come off that way. Now can we blame the media for 50% of our woes?

Blame the media - nope. They are just the mouthpiece - spinning as they are told. They are the puppets of the real puppetmasters. When you blame the media you are taking your focus off the actual target, and believe it or not - that's exactly what they want you to do. Remember from the Wizard of Oz - Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Mark, I understand your statement but really??? Media controls what we believe by what we say and hear. Maybe they are being told what to report, I personally believe they are being paid to report bias. I mentioned the same in another thread.

Mike, thanks for the post. I wanted to ask if you knew who Kathy was or if it was a mass email, but I could not figure out a way to ask without asking the question directly.

i do beleive mark is correct the media gets it and twists to suit them. and also don't put it past this bunch of nitwits in the white house to have some strong control on the media. i know kathy's sister lisa

But what is the solution...?

Do we relinquish our freedom....bend over and grab our ankles in submission...?

Or hand out AR's with 1,000 rds of ammunition to every able bodied American and make the Russian Revolution look like a yard party...??

Or is the solution something in between...???

Giving up only a portion of your freedom is a little like being only a little pregnant. You are either free to exercise personal freedom or your not.

Regardless of what the general population of sheep will do....there are many who will not give up their freedoms without a hard fought fight.

We have a lot of well trained ex-servicemen and Law Enforcement officers who do NOT like what is going on in this administration. If a violent incident starts a domino effect...especially if the government response is heavy handed as in Waco...I don't see a peaceful outcome. What I foresee is many in uniform standing head to head against government agencies sent to quell social disturbances.

National Guard Armories are everywhere...and are manned by MANY NCO's who are sympathetic to the dissatisfaction currently expressed by the public.

All it would take is a spark.... and we will all be living in a free fire zone.

Some will say...that can't happen...!

But it already did...here in Missouri...145 years ago...

"Those that fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it." - Winston Churchill

With all due respect...I, at this point, do not feel "A little pregnant" I understand your fears but what has been taken? I ask because I don't understand, really. I still have my business, I still have my guns, I still have food on my table, I still have my health care, I still can voice my opinion, I still have a home, food and family. We all have cars that most in the world would never think they could own. We live in a country that has better than 92% of the worlds wealth.

Again, I ask because I just don't get it. My personal belief is we have group of really pissed off people that the big O is in office. My father got spit on because he was in the military during Vietnam. This country goes through cycles. Growth, contraction and implosion. Economically this has happened before and will happen again. Is it time for a revolution? I don't know. Should I be upset because only 91% of the American population is working??I don't think so. Especially when static unemployment is 3-4% I feel sorry for the 4 in 100 that are out of a job and can't find work, but in reality that is capitalism. It sucks but it is true.

Again, I ask because I guess I just don't get the aurguments that have been coming up lately on this forum and many others. I really like the exchange and opinions, that is why I asked.

Neat conversation folks!

First: On the media:
1) The media in the US includes, TV, newspaper, Hollywood, the music industry, the large magazine publishers, book publishers, producers, writers, actors, ad agencies, and all of the various support industries. They are overwhelmingly liberal progressive democrats well beyond the ratios of normal demographics. The only holdout is FOX News, and the rest of Murdoch’s interests which are considerable, but pale in comparison to the entire industry. Also of note, some may also include the university and educational infrastructure in this model. But, that’s a debate for another day.

2) The bias that you “notice” on such programs as cable news shows and magazine covers are obvious. I will submit that this is just the tip of the iceberg of media bias. Without digging to deeply you can find equally disturbing bias from the slogan of a product, a storyline of a movie or book, a song lyric, a spokesperson’s choice of wardrobe, a camera angle, a simple graphic layout or an advertising theme. It’s everywhere. It’s effective. It’s subtle. You have to remember that this industry is THE BEST in the world at their trade. A simple example? The current debate used to be titled The Health Care Bill, now they call it The Health INSURANCE Reform Bill. Why? Because they have tested these specific word combinations and have found out scientifically that we will likely respond more positively to reforming the “evil” insurance industry. They’ve made the insurance companies the scapegoat and the supposed cause of the problem – and now they’re going to fix it for us. Very subtle, very clever and deadly accurate. They know if they repeat it often enough will buy it hook, line, and sinker. It’s true. It happens like that every day for every product, company, and media message that you hear and or see. It’s mathematical and irrefutable.

3) The Media’s “dog” in this hunt is nothing more than MONEY. They are going to side with “the winner” every single time. Obama and Congress got a mandate with the election no doubt about it (you think). He’s the winner. Plus, his agenda squares perfectly with the media’s agenda. They are backing him 100%. So, you now have two legs of the stool.

4) The third leg is the media’s fascination with stardom. Obama is the most popularly reported president since JFK and Roosevelt before that. The media loves a good story for sure. But if that story revolves around a “star” it’s headline news around the world. Need an example of that? How many drug addicts died so far this year worldwide? Thousands? Hundreds of thousands? Sure. NAME ONE. Stumped? Drugs do kill many thousands of people each year, but that’s not a “story”. How about a clue? This person was a musician. Got it yet? When a musician dies it sometimes makes a few headlines. Can you name the original singer for AC/DC and describe how he died? Probably not. BUT – can you tell me how Michael Jackson died? Sure you can. He was a drug addict who died in his sleep at the hands of his doctor and handlers/enablers. The media phenomenon is called “The CULT of Personality”. This is the third leg of the stool between the media and the current administration. Now, let me divert right here and say that A Cult of Personality can be bad and it can also be good. But for the most part, it’s bad.

5) So, this is the nature of the structure that supports the current leaders. With this structure in place, they can accomplish 100% of their agenda. They can and they will. They will without firing a shot. They will with our supposed majority of support. It’s is virtually impossible for them to fail in their endeavors.

Second: On your Situation

You are lucky – so far. But you must admit that many millions of people in this country are suffering greatly right now. They’ve lost their jobs, their industry, their homes, their savings, and their careers through no fault of their own. Many millions more are on the verge of losing everything right now. So, you are ok now, but I’ll wager that your industry is following the trend of the rest of the world – and is trending downward. If things got really bad and you found yourself out of work as many millions of other are, without healthcare – you’d be begging for government aid (as many millions are) and THAT is exactly what they want.

Third: So what do we do?
VOTE.

The single shame of this country is its lack of voter participation. Expressed as a percentage of eligible voters, 131.2 million votes were cast (in the 2008 election), reflecting a turnout of 63.0% of eligible voters – shameful – but everybody was so happy with the turnout – remember? This 63.0% turnout rate is based on an estimated eligible voter population of 208,323,000. That leaves 37% of the population sitting at home. Obama won with 69 million votes total (vs. McCain’s 59 million votes). Meaning that 29% of the population carried the election for Obama. So, to boil it down 1/3 of the country sat a home, a little more than 1/3 voted democrat, and a little less than 1/3 voted republican. BOOM – mandate – BS.

The dirty little secret (that you’ll never hear from Washington) is that your vote is not so secret. They (the politicians, pollsters – and the media) know through extensive demographical studies who will vote, and who will stay home. They are able to accurately predict exactly who will win. They can calculate down to the very street you live on – how the election will tip. In fact, they count on a large number of people staying home. To put it another way, if just an extra 5% of the population turned out for McCain he would have won easily. That 5% (11 million votes) would still have left 1/3 of the country sitting at home. That 5% could have been a small portion of virtually any major group in the country – namely young people who typically do not vote, or latinos, or the poor, or the rich for that matter. Why do you think they (the media) are constantly pushing to get people of like mind to the polls? Answer - Because they know that as little as 5% of the population can swing an election. So, vote. Vote for anyone you wish. But if you sat at home during that last election and now you’re laid off, or you’re protesting at some town hall meeting – then you’re wasting your time. Vote - like your life depended on it - because it does.

Well said, but I want to expand on my situation. I made my bed I sleep in it. Meaning, if I lose my job(company), my home, cars, etc. it is up to ME to replace that. My success or failure is not due to someone else and you recognize that neither is yours. I detest those that want to live off the government programs that we provide. I am not talking about those that need help, I am talking about those that work the system and live off it. I lived in an area in IL that I knew when it was "paycheck" day from the state. Wal mart lines would be packed with those that just got their "paycheck". I have a family member on WIC and assistance. The difference is she works. She is not making enough yet but her husband is in school and working nights and she works days.

I lose my business, who knows it could happen any day, I will survive and thrive not because O is going to make things better, but because I will provide for my family. I would only assume we are having these discussions because every one of us feels the same way and are sick of it growing and not getting better.

I don't detest those who "milk" "live off" the system, but I do pitty them. Someday they will have to stand in judgment for their dishonesty.

Here's my take on the "biased" media issue. There is no such thing as an unbiased anything or an unbiased person. That word/terminology is for never/neverland or Dorthy's fantasy land in the Wizard of Oz. Every media of any kind is biased. We all have our opinions & they color/affect every thing we say & do. So for anyone to suggest that any kind of media should or can be "unbiased" is being unrealistic. Fox is pro-conservative & the others are pro-liberal. That is not going to change unless the leadership at those mediums changes. BTW IMHO "the media" is not to blame for the repubs losing to the dems. IMO the biggest reason was the policies/changes implemented by the Bush/Chaney administration which caused "swing voters" to swing to the dems instead of staying with the repubs.

"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."
:D

I agree with carpe.
I have been successful and I have had failures in my 50 odd years of providing for myself and more importantly my family.
Some say the success's were just luck. Give luck me over skill any day!
All seem to deem my failures my fault. They are absolutely correct !
My point is this: life is about choices and consequences.
Learn from your mistakes and be prepared to face the consequences, then move on.
I have not depended upon my government to bail me out when times were tought. I have used some government programs that were available for low interest monies.I PAID IT BACK IN FULL WITH INTEREST.
I have paid my "fair" share of income taxes in the past and have no problem with that because it meant I was making money. The amount I pay is determined by my ability to be profitable.
The past several years I have paid enough to enable approximately 3 familys to be supported by our government entitlement progams some of which I hope were down on their luck and some who just know how to work the system.. I can't even get them to come cut my grass or wash my cars.
JFK said a nation is judged by how it takes care of it's indigent...I agree, but the multitude of progams have become a life style. When I was growing up our church members stepped up and aided those that were down on thier luck. Bush did his best to reinvigorate this philosophy by using faith based orginazations, but met a lot of resistance. You know the seperation of church and state thing. BS
We as a nation need to get back to the basics of self dependance.

Carpe' & Snake are both right. Great guys. Please don't consider this a boastful statement, but one of fact. I have never accepted 1 red cent of gov't $ & I have paid lots of taxes as well. I was encouraged by someone to go sign up for unemployment benies at one time in my life, but refused to do so because there was nothing wrong with me & I was fully cable of working. I went out looking for a job & didn't quit looking until I found one. All of these statements are true because I have been blessed by my Lord & savior with the aptitude & willingness to work hard & earn a living for myself & my family. I deserve no credit whatsoever. It is all a result of blessings from my savior. I do not begrudge those less fortunate than I from taking some of my taxes & taxes paid by others. Nor do I intend to judge them for doing so. It is not for me to judge others. If that makes me a socialist (a dirty word nowadays), then so be it. I am truly blessed & fortunate & I have no problem with others being able to use some of my tax dollars if they are less fortunate then me.
