To get your first license? Mine was a '72 Mercury Marquis. Just like this '71 pictured, color and all:

1970 Impala 2 door with 350 cid, automatic. Camaro Metallic Brown. No luck finding a picture.

57 Fairlane 500 hardtop. Mine had chrome reverse wheels with baby moons. I got it when I was 15 to replace the 62 Fairlane I got when I was 14 but I never got rid of the 62 (that replaced my 60 Corvair). When I bought a new Pinto in 71 my Mom said something has to go!

The schools 1992 Dodge Shadow (If you got an A you didn't have to take it at the DMV, but with your Drivers Ed instructor)

1961 Plymouth V-8 door factory...drivers ed car. Had 3 on the tree and the instructor got furious when I did a 1-2 power shift and bent the stick...I had been driving for 3 years before I took driver ed(it was a requirement).

1960 Chevy Impala. 283 auto. bought it when I was 15 for 125.00. Had a bad water pump & felt like engine was blown. Pop knew it was only the water pump bearings and when we repalced the water pump, it ran perfect!! Put on dual exhaust with Thrush mufflers, rounded out with Tiger Paws and baby moon hub caps. Inside I had a cool;) FOUR track tape player. Anybody remember the 4 track?? Passed my test the first time. Did screw up parking by only using the mirrors. However, they still let me drive a Cobra!:D

!954 Pontiac Star Chief....
Ours was light yellow with cream white top. Straight eight hydramatic on the column. The young kids in the neighborhood called it the "Yellow Jet"....because of the "wooosh" of the exhaust when you floored it.

It was a suprisingly comfortable and quiet highway car.

Same body as this example:
