My son-in-law is looking for a Muncie M22 "rock crusher".
I know , I know, that is bow tie stuff.
Danny maybe you can help locate one.
He has a '68 Camero with a built 396 he wanting to refurb.
Only things on his Christmas list are for the Camero.

I have a friend with one for his '68 he is restoring, I'll ask if he knows of any other.

Mark speakith the truth. I have a 69 SS 396 with a muncie rock crusher tranny. They are real pricey. I got lucky and found a guy parting out a 69 El Camino and got it for 300.00 several yrs ago. I've got an old Saginaw 2.5, 4 speed that was in the car when I got it. Non-original and I didn't think it would hold the BB. I'll keep my eyes open for you ASnake! It's good to talk a little Bow Tie !!

Hey Snakey Guy. I just happened to think that I might have a muncie in my garage. I bought some stuff from a friend of mine about 20 years ago. I can't remember if a muncie was included. I'll take a look in one of the corners of my garage. Does it HAVE to be a rock crusher? That's the pricey one everybody wants. What's in a name? He can fib a little & tell everybody that it's a RC & they won't know the diff. EDIT: Hey Snakey Guy, I just went out in the garage & lo & behold I think the muncie's out there under a 57 engine block, buried in the corner. If I'm not mistaken there is a Hurst shifter upstairs in my garage attic for it too. I don't know if it's a RC or not. How can you tell if it's a RC? Here's an M21: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Munc...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Here's an M22: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/69-M...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Here's another M22: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories BTW The tranny out in my garage has a course input shaft not fine.

snake theres some nice aftermarket transmissions much stronger and if its not a numbers matching car i would go that route before i pay that much for 1 of them noisy 4 speeds - and alot of these are very stong richmond gear has a nice one the 5 speed starts around 1800.00 and richmond has always had a good product. as i remember that m22 rock crusher sounded like it was grinding rocks
