We continue to fine tune our benefits to the membership, and are planning an upgrade to the website to offer a few more "features".
Most are aware of the struggle between our front page (WordPress), our Forum (vBulletin) and our calender (we've tried three different approaches) An upgrade to a newer version of the forum software provides a smoother integration of all of these into one package. The new package also provides membership dues management package and ways to pay online.
A new feature being developed is a members "garage" which will provide information on the members car. A "teaser" to the general public and detailed information (as much as the member chooses to provide) to club members. You can take a look at a couple sites using the modification:
While you're at the Mustang site, take a look at the home page for a preview of the software features
Another new feature will be a members only download area to get club documents, cruise routes and current membership lists. Again, only accessible by paid members.
An a special feature to those on the calendar: a download area to get the digital image used for the shot - just in case you want a full size poster for your mancave.
And more? Got ideas of something you'd like to see on the forum. Post your thoughts, we probably can add it in.
The upgrade will require shutting the forum down for a day to apply the necessary software changes. We've already done a test run on the upgrade and know it works without a hitch, the only holdback is to get as many of the changes ready as possible so as to minimize the number of modifications required after the site comes back online. The actual changeover time has yet to be determined, we're studying the access logs and will do it during a time of minimal usage. We give you a heads up of when it is going to be
