The price to play is going up SUBSTANTIALLY. (Or may it already has and I'm just noticing )

I recommended an oil pan that I purchased for my GT40 from Aviaid. I paid $595 for it in January, 2024. He wrote me back, gasping: Current price is $995

I go to Shapiro Metals for all my steel, stainless and aluminum products. A typical trip a couple years ago and I would spend $20-$30. Last week, I needed a couple pieces of aluminum sheet. $85 - Ouch

Speaking to a potential member, he commented, "I am thinking that my budget for a moderate build should be $65,000" (That number used to be touted as $40,000)

You'll notice I've left out any comments on filling a 15-gallon tank with 93Premium, twice in the same day.

Sorry guys, if you're gonna drive a Cobra, you will have to step up to the new reality

I started to buy an Aviad pan, not talked myself out of it and bought a Canton pan instead. The Aviad met my dimensions needed, but the Canton was almost half the price and it's working fine.

It is what it is on the cost. Hasn't slowed my driving down much. I think I'm approaching 2,000 miles since reassembly in March.

I've been telling people wanting to know how much a build these days would cost and I've been telling them 50k on the low end and 65k on the upper end.

And the reason why it's almost better buying an assembled and painted car and modify. 🤔
