Track Day invite by Misfit Toys Car Club

Added to Calendar: 07/10/22

I watched it a couple of times. When we talked about it, I thought the I was told his rear kicked out to the right, and he slid, but it was the counter move that spun him. Interesting and really quick too.

Dan maybe you're thinking of Stevens spin? I think his was almost instantly and only in one direction? I said I tried to catch and correct the spin, and came back the other direction. Everything happens in a split second, and it was only instinct that had me trying to correct the slide. I'm convinced that even though I over corrected, spinning in the opposite direction, that slowed the car enough I stayed off the wall. Right or wrong, I keep driving the car till I can't, it wasn't till I was almost backwards that I went both feet in.
This all started because I missed a clean downshift to third in turn 1, you can see I'm high, off the line in turn 1. I entered 2 right and high, I knew it was going to be iffy. Rick was close behind me, should I have letup and tried to wave him past? I really don't know, that may have put him off the line too?
Something for a private conversation with the guys out there with me.

Posting my spin, maybe club could learn from my misfortune. I misspoke, based on the video I had completed my braking (straight line) prior to turn-in and was on throttle thru the turn. This morning I was thinking maybe (front or rear) bump steer played a factor 🤔 (couldn’t download from Garmin, only way was to record using phone)

just noticed these possible "damp" trails from the video  From the video, I'm on throttle, the rear is loaded, and spins (loses traction) when I hit the trails.

Well, we know it wasn't from rain. This is yet another issue with running with a group that has untrained corner workers. I'll almost guarantee you the SCCA guys would have seen that and gotten it cleaned up. I suspect the blue Audi that was towed back to the garage area or one of the many new drivers that didn't think their leak was any big deal. This sux

It looks like 2 distinct trails. I remember the the Subaru that came in and parks behind us said they lost their brakes on the course and the had to refill and re-bleed them in the covered area. Just another possibility.

Upon closer inspection, those are pavement patches. Darker asphalt it appears

I think you're right, does look like a patch, and thats not really where the spin was

True, but wouldn't it be right after? Looking at just the picture, it seems the spin was quite a bit after?
I just know in my case that wasn't part of the reason. My spin was much later in the day, so if that had been liquid, I think it would have been gone by then.

Tim the IPhone let’s me save the video directly to my phone really easy. Do you not have that option?

Yes, but, I'm not Rick 😁. He transferred the data to a thumb drive because he has an old computer that wouldn't run Race Render. He has another video that is vertical that I can't rotate unless I purchase the program.
