A reference was made in the club cruise forum that we no longer…as a group… have to perform death defying stunts as Cobra Owners. As much as I love Cobra’s…they are not the epitome of death defying road vehicles.
There is no question that as a lifelong risk taker…I have taken some serious risks in the past that I would not repeat today.
Racing the Funny Bike…
Landing aboard an aircraft carrier in a twin engine aircraft…with one engine out…
Deer hunting out of a tree stand…with crutches and a broken ankle…and taking two deer.
Swimming between coral reefs on Grande and Little Grande Islands in the Philippines…with 10ft sharks swimming below…
However, let me assure you…the guy in the following link is in a special class when it comes to taking risks…for himself and anyone around him.
First and foremost…I DO NOT…repeat…DO NOT condone, endorse or suggest trying to duplicate what was done. It is shared with all of you so that you understand that there are idiots you share the road with who are willing to risk their life and yours…for the sake of an adrenalin rush.
It is also presented to illustrate that anytime you think ANY Cobra can compete with a current HP large displacement motorcycle…you are misinformed. You WILL lose.
It is obvious this guy is:
1. Unequivocally CRAZY…
2. Cares nothing about those around him who he threatens by his actions.
3. Deserves to have his driver’s license revoked for life.
4. Is a VERY skilled rider
5. Is the luckiest SOB alive to have survived this chase for 10 MINUTES at speeds in excess of 180 MPH in heavy traffic.
Multiple law enforcement officers are chasing this rider on public interstate while he is riding a Suzuki Hayabusa…considered the worlds fastest production motorcycle… In stock form it is capable of a 190 MPH top speed and 10 sec flat ¼ mile times.
As you watch the video, you can see the rider peg the speedometer in 6th gear….multiple times. He is laid over in some corners doing 150-160 MPH…all the while dodging cars, trucks and 18-wheelers in his path. He is passing between cars at 100 MPH... Passing on both shoulders at 150 MPH.
How he survived…is…a mystery.
Turn your volume down…maximize the screen size and watch the speedometer on the right. The 3:00 position is 150 MPH. The 5:00 position is 180 MPH. The LED on top of the dash is the gear indicator.
