Third Event to replace Drag Racing

Dean and I have have reviewed several of your ideas and have decided on the following format for our third event. We are calling it a "Barrel Race":

Participant will line up at a timing line similar to the Auto Cross> At the start command the driver will proceed (as fast as he wants to) to a pilon located 100 yards away in which he must circle (turn, slide, skid, drift etc) and then proceed back to the "Finish line" ( located immediately next to the start finish line) and come to a complete stop within a 20' X 30' box that extends a only few feet beyond the finish line so the driver can stop the clock. Seconds will be added for anyone that does not have all four wheels with in the box, and additional seconds for anyone that knocks down any of the boundry pilons that define the course. This event will probably be ran in conjunction with the Auto Cross on Thursday.

Neato Clois - sounds like fun. I'll start practicing for that one over at the Wal Mart parking lot.
 
Just please don't use the lightpost as the pilon for the practice rounds:eek:
 
Sounds like you and Dean have a winner there, Clois.

Maybe I''ll just drive down and throw her into reverse for the return trip to the box on the other side of the pylon. :eek:

With no braking until the box, that shouldn't be any problem for the tranny, right? ;)

We have to think of a name for this event.
I'm putting up the premanent RNG forum tonight and I need a name for it.
