Lt Mike - What time are you leaving? Get your trailer done? Let me know, maybe we can caravan over.

:( I'm not going to be able to run at Putnam this weekend. :(

While having the car checked out at Winner's Circle, Danny discovered that two welds in the frame had failed. That comes after having my windshield broken the day before.

My daughter says "fate" is telling me its best not to go out on the track this weekend. Sheeesh.

I hope everyone has a great time. I may still come over Saturday just to visit.

Steve

PS: Hunt down Dan Mroz (driving a Lotus 211) and Scott Holley (Royal blue / silver SPF and a Radical). You'll get excellent driving information from them and a ride with either one is one hell of a fun experience.

Now that thar's funny I don't care who you are. Some of us need a gentle nudge & others of us need the big stick. Ouch. Don't ask me how I know.:rolleyes:;) BOT You are more than welcome to take my beast to Putnam if ya want. Just say the word. Just don't bust the frame you maniac. :D

I knew the SB guy would figure out a way to get out of an a$$ whoopin :D Sooo, he can't weld any faster? Put a couple pairs of vise grips on it and you'll be good :D Bet that has something to do with your windshield cracking.

David:

A generous offer but I'm going to pass. Ever since my windshield was broken I've managed to get no work accomplished. I need to stay home just to try and catch up.

Training Video

This guy runs a lap at 1:15. I thought he was doing really well, and then another car goes flying past him. Then you can see that car on the side of the track. Front straight looks awesome. Turn one is tight. Nice lines from this guy - running a BMW spec racer. Those new tires are going to come in handy Tim.

Steve, that's a bummer you won't make it!
I was looking forward to seeing you run that beast :D

"Bad things come in threes" so we don't want to see that third one happen at the track!

I'm sure your daughter would have been nervous if you had gone, catch you next time!

Grab a friend and come up and watch!

Steve, I've seen a few of these videos and notice they lay the course out different sometimes. The difference being "The Loop" and "Times Square". How has it been laid out in the past for you? Do you get the full front straight? That's kinda scary  - http://www.putnampark.com/Map.html

Dean, are you going to be there? Any of the "Maybe's" going?

Tim:

We don't run "times square". Once you come out of turn 8 its straight into turn 9.

You'll run the full straight. Don't worry about going too fast. You have a big block. :)

Seriously - there are markers on the left letting you know the braking distance you have before turn 1. Like the rest of the track, there's plenty of safe run-off room.

Nervous, excited, giddy, and what the hell am I forgetting all come to mind how I feel right now. I wasn't this nervous going to Gateway, I guess because I knew the track? Took the car out for a shakedown (after recharging me deader than dead battery ) and all I have is a pop on deceleration, not sure why that started, and a little dieseling after shutting off. Timing maybe? Got the weight distribution hitch installed, now only get 1/2" of sag on the truck, but that was empty, when I put the car in, I may need to go up another link in the chain. Installation pretty easy, but since I have to crank the trailer and truck up to hookup the trunnion bar chains, that's kind of a pain. Not taking my canopy, don't have a way to weight it down, and it appears I won't have time to sit under it anyway :D Taking my canopy chair though. I've packed tools, fluids, brake pads, jack, jackstands etc... enough that I don't have much left in the way of tools in my garage. Better to have an not need than to need and not have. Sure wish more of you were going, lot more fun when there are lot's of people you know around. Will upload some video and pics Saturday night, assuming I pass inspection

Until then, keep you wheels on the pavement, and your ass in the seat :D Later dudes :D

Go get 'em Tim. Show them panzie a** , nazi car drivin, ascot wearin fluffy boys what the meaning is of big block AMERICAN muscle !

Keep the shiny side up!

Tim, Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I don't play on my computer as much since retiring, don't have the time. My wife is coming with me and we'll be leaving sometime before noon. We have to get the dogs stabled, and yes I did finish my Serpent Express, just in time. This will be the trailor's shakedown run since I did not have a chance to try it on the road as yet. Hope tech inspection goes well and we will be staying at the Super 8. See you there.

Have fun LtMike. Shiny side up. Send us some pix. Be careful and watch out for Tim. He's not that good of a driver.:D

Everyone have a great time. I really wish I was able to go and drive my car. :(

Regarding my car - Danny is going to re-weld the joints and then diamond plate them. These joints will be stronger than all the rest. I hope to have the car back Monday.
