motorsports park in Branson gets approval

Looks like the road course will be built last, but it does look interesting

Steve,
I'll supply the land if you provide the track...
Kerry

Kerry:

I wonder how much a two lane three mile stretch of asphalt / concrete would cost.

Is the land cleared? What kind of elevation changes?

Have you ever explored the economics of a road course?

Can my original email and subsequent ones be moved to a separate thread? I don't know how to do it or if I even have permission to do so.

About 175 acres is cleared in an approximate L shape. There is the potential for a track over 1/2 mile long. The terrain is mostly flat with some rolling hills on the North end with elevation changes of 30-50 ft. Actually it would make an interesting layout.

I have never considered a track there beyond the existing dual sport MC trails there now. About 6 miles total that are 90% in the timber.

This is a satelite view of the property with the crosshair over the shop building. All of the open fields shown amount to the 175 ac described.

But....It all is pointless as I don't want to spend my retirement years tied to a racetrack.

Kerry, How far of a shot was that coyote or racoon can't tell from pic? What gun?

Rick:D

The coyote shown is one of two females killed as they ran across the open field in a group of four. The one shown was shot at about 140 yds. There was another one further East from this one at the edge of the field that was about 190 yds.

Both were shot with an AR15...not the one shown above... but this one with a 20" 6.8 SPC barrel:

I still want to build one of those real bad!!
Private road track, how sweet would that be!! Autobahn look out.:D

I can't wait for that Branson track to open. Right across the street from Big Cedar Lodge. This would be a stellar way to retire.

Spoken like a true Branson-ite:
After living in fear of this development, neighbors say they cannot thinks of any better year to tell the commissioners about how the feel about the plans for this development and how it all turned out than an election year.

I also thinks they need some punctuation and spell-checking in that run-on sentence. I had to read it 2 or 3 times.

What a shame. Progress impeded. (guess I really can't blame them, I wouldn't be thrilled if they decided to build it next to my place........ wait a minute, YES I would be thrilled!)
