There was a brake light discussion during the Super Cruise and wanted to continue the discussion here with some details.
Rich & I were noticing that Keith had some GREAT Brake lights Saturday evening. I'd like to upgrade my LED panels to thsee LED bulbs and see if it helps.

Keith, I've searched this forum and FFCars and can't find your post with the bulbs you used, can you re-post them?


One of my build customizations was the rectangular tail-lights, but I've been very disappointed in the light output. For my sake and anyone following me (especially fellow club members) I'm bound & determined to significantly improve them this winter.
These bulbs also look significantly better than traditional bulbs in the FFR tail-lights.
 
Also interested. I'm finishing up my wiring. I was looking at replacing all the bulbs with Superbright LEDs. (The company is local)

Thanks Keith. Those look great and like Mark, I've never really liked the amount of light from the standard bulb. and that is an easy replacement.

I ordered these a couple months ago and installed them yesterday as part of my winter upgrades.
They are markedly better. I replaced them on the passenger side and compared them to what I had for the DS.
Definitely better, we'll see how they do in full sunlight.
I don't think the rectangle tail-lights will ever be as good as the round ones, until someone re-designs the lens, but these bulbs are an improvement.
 
Thought of that, but I think it would ruin the reflective and transparency of the lens and at $100 for lens, I don't want to risk it.
That might be a project for later this summer.
