Josh McDaniels Rams New Off. Cor.

Yep, I agree Kerry. The offense has been getting coddled way too long and this will release the killer instinct that Bradford had at Oklahoma. However, he's just crazy enough that it may hurt the overall function of the offense. The QB that he got rid of in Denver is now with the Bears and one win away from the super bowl. How'd that work out in Denver? This may be the 2nd coming of Mike Martz  :D

...and the problem is....?

My point was that in Denver he ran the 2 best players on the team, QB Jay Cutler (now Bears) & WR Brandon Marshall (now Miami), out of town due to his strong personality & that hopefully he won't cause some of the same problems here.

I see what you mean, but who's he going to run off here that we don't already need? :D Maybe he will make them see the light that we need a speedback, a WR, and TE. Brandon Marshall (BM - which is fitting) is a basket case, and so is Cutler, but Cutler can make a difference in a game, Marshall, maybe, maybe not. I think we need his fire and personality to light a fire under the offense' butt.

You know...McDaniels is like a younger Martz...and Mike seems to be doing a good job with the Bears...

Hell...look at any room of continuously successful head coaches...and the majority are stong agressive personalities with big egos... Lombardi, Belichick, Parcells, Cowher, Ditka, Madden, Coryell...et al.

I don't see a problem and I see a big potential benefit for this team.

Kerry

"McDaniels is like a younger Martz" --- Then get rid of him now!!!!

I don't know contraversy seems to follow this guy.

WOW. I like all of your comments.

You are right Tim. Cutler & Marshall are both head cases. Both excellent payers, but with baggage. Marshall is your typical prima donna "I'm the only one that matters around here" type of WR, ala Terrel Owens, Randy Moss, etc.

Kerry I agree a lot of head coaches with extremely large egos have done very well in the NFL. However, some coaches with large egos like Martz have not done as well. Don't remember Ditka being that successful. His handling of drafting Ricky Williams was not very bright.

As long as he wins he'll be forgiven if he continues to be controversial. But if he loses like he did in Denver, asta la vista kiddo.

Potential draft picks for the Rams
1st Round - Julio Jones, WR, Alabama - a playmaker target for Bradford
2nd Round - Mason Foster, OLB, Washington - Get Laurenitis some help
3rd Round - Quinton Carter, S, Oklahoma - Get Bartlett & Fletcher some help or replace
4th Round - Kendall Hunter, RB, Oklahoma State - Finally, a backup to SJ39

That cares for their immediate issues. Beyond these guys, more o line help, and more middle defensive line help. I predict 8 wins and playoffs next year. The West will still be weak, with the biggest obstacle being Seattle again, possibly with their own rookie QB out of Arkansas Ryan Mallet.

As for coaches - they don't make the plays, the players do. All of the coaches mentioned were great motivators to already great players. Ditka got the most out of Da Bears with the superbowl win, only two great players on that team. Dick Vermiel as I remember wasn't an aggressive style coach, just worked hard and expected the same of his players.

Julio Jones would be great if he is still on the board by the time the Rams pick 14th. If not hopefully another quality WR will still be there at 14th. 2nd round I would be happy with speedy RB, OLB or O Guard. I would like for them to draft another WR in a later round. Hopefully they can resign Mark Clayton who is a free agent.

If this is true ouch: http://stlouis.sbnation.com/st-loui...-the-st-louis-rams-wide-receiver-crop-withers :(

The basic story is true, this year's draft is WR poor for talent. That's why signing a free agent veteran receiver may be more reachable. Clayton - Old, Hurt, and recovering - no thanks. Avery - rock hands. WR pickup is imperative contrary to the source's mock draft. Plaxico I think is available, will need to get him a police escort to keep him out of trouble, but he would change this offense.

Not sure Plaxico is available. Two of the jets WRs are available. Holmes & Edwards. http://www.footballsfuture.com/2011/fa/wr.html I still think the rams should try to resign Clayton. He is better than anybody else we have now. :( You are right about signing a free agent WR Tim. If they wait on the draft, it's doubtfull that Jones will be available @ 14th & then after him there is a significant drop off in quality @ WR.
