for flying the American flag, then please leave - http://www.captainsjournal.com/2009...-removes-american-flags-honoring-dead-marine/
And from a person that lives in the area (courtesy of FFCo$ra.com):
"I live just a few miles from where this took place. The lady that placed the flags was a family friend of the young man that gave his life for this country. I heard her on the local radio talk show call in before any of the news outlets got this story. She was very hurt and asking what she should do about it, so it was pretty fresh on her mind. She had placed the American flags along the road way in front of the BOA branch in question. She made sure she had placed them close to the curb away from the sidewalk and had left to do something else , came back and they were gone. The soldier had not come through the town yet at this point. She went into the branch and asked if anyone had seen her flags that she put up and the Branch Mgr, who was very rude to her, told her they were in the back room and she could pick them up but would not be allowed to place them outside the branch because it was against bank policy. Further investigation revealed that the Public relations person from Charlotte, NC said that it was not against any policy of BOA and that they flew the flag in most of the bank locations. Well, people started calling all over from the upstate of SC and said that every branch they drove by did not display a flag or even have a flag pole in front of their branches. I drive by several of them and did not see any flags or poles to speak of.
Not sure what you all have read but they had to place a cop in the branch because lots of people wanted to talk with that Branch Mgr. The radio station tried throughout the day to get hold of her and she would not come on to give her side of the story. The lady that placed the flags sounded very nice and was not mad at BOA but more put out by there representative (Branch Mgr) and how rude and unfeeling she was for the situation of the town coming out to honor a fallen soldier.
That's my take from the SC perspective.

I very much tire of political correctness and who we might offend because of American traditions, morals, and values. You don't like the way we do things here, go somewhere else!
