Help me decide - Diesel or not?

Steve, Do you mean the union in Fenton. Where there was a plant that build both my Dodge trucks
I agree with a new Dodge let the Mex's buy them

Rick:)

I didn't want to start a new thread on this, but I now have 70,000 miles on my truck, and, just learned I've been neglectful in changing my fuel filters.....I've never changed them  So, headed today to buy new filters and change them myself (shop quoted me $250 for parts and labor...parts are $80...my labor, a beer or two :D) How often do you diesel guys change your filters?

Whats the manual recommend? I would say when they are dirty, if you are buying clean fuel, which is what fuel stations sell, then I would think 20-30,000 miles. Just something to think about, my Toyota is 12 years old over over 130000 miles, never changed the filter, and I never will, because it doesn't have one.

The Cummins manual recommends every other oil change, like Rick says. I purge any water from the separator a few times a year, as well. Gene

Rich diesel fuel is very dirty. It really should not cost more than gas because it is not nearly as refined. it's almost crude.

Not sure where you get that from? Anyone doing injection pumps won't agree with that.
