Just listening to Adam Corolla CarCast show with tire expert from Nitto.
He says when you heat cycle your slicks, when you come off the track, you should put your car on stands so there's no weight on the tires . They will need twice as long, unloaded as you were running to properly cool down. Don't so this and they will flat spot and wear unevenly.
This only applies to slicks or tires made of race compounds.
