So what have you guys done? The .040 floor pans just seem a little thin to me. Am I just overthinking this? I almost have the Passenger side re-done with some mods due to the new headers, but I was thinking about doubling up on the bottom of it or I could go out and get some 6061 in .060 thickness instead of the .040 thickness. I know once it's all riveted tight and the sound proofing installed along with carpet it , it "should" be fine. Thought? Suggestions?

I made additional aluminum plates for my footboxes and siliconed / riveted them to the bottom (outside). I don't remember what I used, thicker than .040, maybe 1/16th(?)
I don't know if it was really necessary, but my FBs feel VERY solid and quiet.
It was easy and inexpensive, I'd do it again.

I know Mark did his, but really it was just for peace of mind. There is no reason the reinforce the floor, you can't stand on them, so why?

My floor box bottom is 1/8" (.125) Cold Rolled Steel - and I can't stand on it either.

When I dropped the footbox with a box of the same metal, it felt a little stiffer. Maybe it was the extra angles... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
