I keep a couple plastic sandwich bags in my car under the drivers seat, in case it rains, I can pull them out and cover my radar detector, GPS, or cell phone quickly.
Unfortunately, I pulled them out a couple weeks ago and forgot to put them back.
As an emergency backup, I've been collecting the little silicon packages that comes in pill, vitamin, aspirin bottles and saving them in a plastic bag too.
Wednesday I got caught in 2 downpours on the way to Gateway and during the second one, my GPS locked up.
When I arrived at Gateway, I put my GPS in the plastic baggy with the silicon packages and let it dry out for 2 days.
Tested it this morning and it works great!

Cheap, easy, and could save your electronic device or cell phone.
