Hey MikeW: What is the serial # for Dennis's vette? My serial # is E57S101247. My vette was the 1247th 57 vette to roll off the St. Louis assembly plant line. Using production numbers from Noland Adam's book, I have determined that assembly of my vette was commenced on approx. Thurs. 12/6/56 & completed on Mon. 12/10/56. Based on info. I obtained pursuant to a title search history of my vette, I determined that my vette was delivered to Harris Chevrolet in Troy, N.C. on 1/9/57. On 7/31/57 it was sold to it's original owner, Harold Scott of Biscoe, N.C. After I found out the ownership history I began calling directory assistance for phone #s of previous owners. When I asked for Harold Scott of Biscoe, N.C., I nearly fell out of my chair when the operator gave me a ph.#. When I dialed the # I got to speak to the original owner's son. He told me his father had passed on & that his father sold the vette to the 2nd owner cause he was getting ready to turn 16 & his dad did not want him to kill himself in the vette. I sure would like to meet Dennis & see his vette. BTW Check out my post in your wine cruise thread re: a 2X4 set up for Dennis's vette.
