I received a Pamphlet in the mail today for a one day seminar entitled "Dealing with Difficult People.":D It described 6 different "difficult" personality types. 1. "The Know-It-Alls" They're arrogant & usually have an opinion on every issue. When they're wrong, they get defensive. 2. "The Passives" These people never offer ideas or let you know where they stand. 3. "The Dictators" They bully & intimidate. They're constantly demanding & brutally critical. 4. "The 'Yes' People" They agree to any commitment, yet rarely deliver. You can't trust them to follow through. (Wavey Davey):p 5. "The 'No' People" They are quick to point out why something won't work. What's worse, they're inflexible. 6. "The Gripers" Is anything ever right with them? They prefer complaining to finding solutions. Recognize anyone? :D We could all probably sign up for this one.

Now wait a minute Dave:

1. Why do you think that we all have problems and need to go to a seminar? Who made you king?
2. On the other hand...I guess you could have a point
3. Why don't you go to this seminar and let us be the judge if it worked?
4. Wait a minute, don't be like that, Dave is nice, he is trying to help...
5. I still don't think a seminar will fix anyones problem. I couldn't see that working.
6. I'm sick of all these stupid ideas I just posted...

:eek::eek::p;)

I was playing this one out to see if you caught my sadistic humor. That's what you get for spending two nights back to back at the City of R--k H--l Board of Alderman (Tues.) and P&Z (tonight) for a project to get it approved. Yes, that was me.

Ahhh...

Rock Hill, what a joke. I'll spell it out. I'll share a story with you sometime. :(

Oh, you are dealing with that cell tower across the street from my project....lucky you! I forgot about that.

Now there is dealing with some Difficult People. Sad thing is (for the complaining residents) that the City Needs our project and approved everything lock stock and barrell. Even tonight I got all of the signage we wanted approved which over half of was a varience to their code which was not contemplated for larger projects like ours.

Funny. Only really difficult people I have a tough time dealing with are Attorneys:eek::D;)

Cutting your teeth

Scott,
Get skilled with the city of R. . . H . . . You're going to need a lot of experience when you start dealing with the city of M..ch..t.r Isn't your company building in the new project?

The village idiots refused to run for office there, said it was below their pay grade.

Paul,

We've already gone through their process, a few years ago. The entire lineup of buildings along Manchester at 141 on the former Saturn dealership is our work. Another project manager in my office is handling that project.

We also did all of Chesterfield Commons, and the new Town & Country Crossing development with Target & Whole Foods (this was my project). Sorry to toot my own horn. We kind of specialize in large shopping center developments with large anchors nobody wants, and we get them approved.

I got another police escort back to my car Tuesday night. That is turning into a common affair these days at public hearings.
