car lift

Might be a winner

One of the major issues of above ground lifts is the columns. A single post style lift gets rid of 50% of the problem! But the ones in the past have been pretty bulky. This one looks very promising.

The only issue I see is the drive-over height. I see the base has ramps to get over it so you wouldn't have to push it in from the side, but it may be higher than our cars ground clearance is. May take 2x12 runners to get the cars up a little higher to use the lift.

110v is a big positive for home garages. Height is a definite plus for lower ceilings.

Price seems a little high - but this is a new product. They may be feeling out the interest and how much you can get out of it.

I'll call my buddies at Rotary (they are the parent company for this stuff) and get some more background on it.

Paul thanks. I really would like a lift of some sort. I was going for one of the small scissor lift, the ones that lift about 40" then I saw this. There are cheaper one on the net, but this company, I think has a good reputation.

Careful

The site you found, Greg Smith Equipment used to be the area distributor for Direct Lift. Direct Lift is the Chinese import company owned by Rotary Lift. Much of the same design behind the equipment as the American made stuff.

But Greg Smith and Direct Lift had a falling out and he is no more. The equipment his company is offering now is a lesser quality Chinese import - many of which have had some real quality issues. I would be real careful

I still have some contact with my big distributor up in Illinois that has used equipment and some of the lower priced Direct Lift units. I can work up a deal for you (or anyone else) for a quality piece of equipment that has some form of manufacturer backing. He often has some pretty good used items also.

Before you do anything, give me a shout

Paul
